NOT ENTIRELY COMPOSED WHEN DEPOSED. That would be Democratic gubernatorial nominee Ed Rendell, who was recently deposed in a federal lawsuit in which he is a defendant.

Rendell appeared at times angry, frustrated and incredulous over some of the questions asked during the June 14 deposition in Philadelphia. More than once, he threatened to walk out of the proceedings.

Right. And the judge can order you to sit there until he makes this ruling. Try or threaten to get up and leave before he does, and he will jail you for contempt of court.

People being deposed have a right not to answer certain questions at a deposition and can be forced to answer those questions only after the Federal judge has heard the question and thinks it has any probative value.
or....they could just ask you

Beg to differ; I've seen many of them STOPPED dead in their tracks for weeks while they go to court.

Things started poorly even before the Adamses' attorney, Larry Klayman of the Washington, D.C.-based public interest firm Judicial Watch, asked the first question. Rendell would not agree to stay for the entire three hours the court was allowing Klayman to question him.

Whoever this Adams guy is, he must have really taken a mental beating. There's no other way to explain why he would have hired Klayman as his lawyer. Maybe FIJC has something to add.

IMHO, it's likely that you already know who "this Adams guy is", but I'll cut you a break and suggest that you research the FR archives on this topic.

All of the questions cited in the article were inappropriate and not reasonably calculated to lead to admissible evidence. Normally, Rendell's lawyer would simply instruct Rendell not to answer, and that would be that. Just why Rendell choose to make this a circus is a mystery. Maybe the guy has a hot temper. Maybe he lacks the temperment to be governor.

They can also lie to the court if they are politically powerful enough and the lawsuits are kept out of the media.

FYI.

This man needs to be defeated. For a Dem, he is not all bad - but he is a NARAL supported pro-abort (NARAL helped him defeat Casey in the primary) and tried to get Philly to jump on the gun lawsuit bandwagon when doing that was the fad (until the trial lawyers found out we shoot back).

I have met him in person and he is a likable guy - has a very friendly demeanor. That makes him a bit more formidalbe as a result, if people go by the personality instead of his record.

Make sure you let your pro-life friends and pro 2nd friends to vote Fisher (or at least NOT vote Rendell).

Rendell reacted similarly when Klayman asked if he had ever heard the hypothesis that the Teamsters had played a role in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. At this point, Rendell cradled his head in his hands and said, "This whole thing boggles my mind."

Is Larry trying to get this thrown out of court?

I don't, but if he's a friend of yours, that's all I need to know.

John Morris, the Teamster thug who was videotaped leading the assult and battery of Don and Teri died.....

Good I hope that he is in hell with the rest of the clinton worshippers and enablers who have gone on to their eternal reward.

I don't think Larry's primary focus is the courtroom. Larry is in one sense sort of like Clinton. He is addicted to publicity, or maybe (not so much like Clinton) money, or maybe both, since they go together like bacon and eggs.

BTW,all you NRA members should know that Rendell and the LaPierre/senile Heston clique are bestest buddies. So good in fact that the NRA agreed to ban conclealed weapons by PA CCW permit holders at the NRA convention in Philly!

This seems a bit strange, since Rendell wanted to sue gun makers. Can you post any more info on this? I am worried about him as my governor. Fisher doesn't exactly make me do backflips, but he is a much better choice.

Beg to differ;

When was the last time you saw somebody in a court room refuse a judges order to sit and stay, and then get away with walking out? THIS is what Rendell got away with threatening to do,and there is no way in hell anybody with less political clout than him could ever get away with this.

I often wonder why he din't come down harder on Rendell's administration, and wonder if Casey regrets that now.

Very simple. The Ridge admin. used to be the king here until 9-11, and that is what Casey would have to defeat. And Yes, he did come down hard on them.

thank you for your post
I did not know any of that
I learned a lot

the Rendell/clinton corruption boggles my mind
this is why I finally (last month) switched my Registration from GOP to Libertarian
I couldn't take the frustration anymore of watching our administration not let DOJ investigate any of this
GO Larry Klayman

btw when clinton realized he was safe from Impeachment forever
(after Dems kept him in power)
he fired head of Dem Party and replaced him with Ed Rendell
the job he gave Rendell was to organize the massive fraud operation in 2000 election
Rendell did good job
but tsunami of votes for Bush overwhelmed it
Thank God
Love, Palo
