Statements on a website attributed to Al-Qaeda's spokesman claim that Osama bin Laden will soon make a televised addressed to the Muslim world.

The remarks, purportedly made by Sulaiman Abu Ghaith, appeared on an Arabic-language website that issues daily updates on the war in Afghanistan.

"We assure Muslims that Sheik Osama bin Laden is in good health, and all that has been reported about his sickness or his being injured in Tora Bora is completely false. The sheik will address the (Muslim) community soon in a televised interview," Abu Ghaith was quoted as saying.

There was no way to independently confirm the authenticity of the remarks.

A three-part series signed by Abu Ghaith and entitled "Why we fight America," appeared last month on an Islamic militant website which has been up and down for months.

The latest comments were posted on Wednesday, according to the site, and include a photo of bin Laden kneeling between Abu Ghaith and Ayman Al-Zawahri, bin Laden's Egyptian lieutenant. The picture was taken from a video on Oct 7, the same day the United States launched its military campaign against Afghanistan's former ruling Taliban and Al-Qaeda.

"America should get ready and fasten its safety belt," Abu Ghaith was quoted as saying. "We will come to them from where they don't expect. Yes, we will wage attacks, but at the right time , at the place we want and in the way we please."

Abu Ghaith, a former teacher and mosque preacher who was stripped of his Kuwaiti citizenship after the Sept. 11 attacks, allegedly said "98 per cent of Al-Qaeda's leadership is safe ... The battle will intensify soon, God willing, inside and outside Afghanistan."

Everyone here seems to be in agreement--until proven otherwise, the assumtion is OBL is dead. Of course the government also has to assume that he is alive. Fortunately hunting for OBL means hunting for other Al Qaeda scum as well, so nothing lost by looking for him.

It won't be too long before NOBODY wants him in their back yard. Pretty hard to be a martyr under those circumstances. Also we can have "reliable reports" from "secret sources" that he has been spotted anywhere we want him to have been spotted...

By having him hopscotch through the entire non-arab Muslim world first, we preserve the alliance.
By the time we get to Arab countries, they will have lost any moral standing they may have had in the Muslim world...

We keep this up until:
1) State sponsored terrorism stops.
2) The Mythical Moderate Muslism regain control of their religion, or
3) The Koran is read only in hell.

It was revealed long ago that OBL is in China. I have no doubt that the 'OBL in China' report is true and that the White House knows where OBL is right now. They probably even know the street address. However, Bush is playing the 'China is our friend' game which is made necessary given the reality of circumstances.

In China they have much better medical care for wealthy people than is available in Pakistan or Afganistan. In fact, OBL may have relaced his kidneys with new ones courtesy of a female labor slave who was a good genetic match.

China was and is behind 911 and will be behind coming events here in the U.S.

This is the second article I've seen on this; both have the same vague reference to the website concerned. Have you seen an actual URL? I wonder if this is the Alneda website that seems to move from IP address to IP address (I don't know where it is now), or if it's something else.
