Get over it, he threw them a bone...no one is forcing private landowners to sell to environmental groups. The link I posted shows that he has done alot to anger the environmentalists too, so it negates your argument that he is subsidizing the left. And YOU were the one that brought up the Heritage Rivers Initiative, I just showed you where he had rescinded it. Whatsamatter...are you upset because I pointed out that your anti-Bush rhetoric has no basis in fact?

Explain in this context then, what W's brother Jeb is doing in FL. Seems like the enviro groups wrote the legislation, Jeb signed it, and the landowners are *screwed*.

Nope, I don't buy it.  The radical left will always oppose the right.  You've posted a link to the Sierra Club for crying out loud.  They slammed Clinton for heaven's sake.  Are you going to tell me he was a conservative too?  As for the Heritage River's initiative data, I find it rather interesting that you and several other Bush supporters on this forum are able to find answers to questions regarding rather obscure topics in only a matter of a few minutes.

First you find my question.
Second you find the resource.
Third you copy the data.
Fourth you format the data
Fifth you post the data

This you do in five to seven minutes.  I don't think there are more than a few people on this forum that are even tuned into the heritage rivers initiative, so the idea that you've just kept that issue in the back of your mind is rather humorous.

Why would I be upset?  You didn't point out that my anti-Liberal Bush posts were incorrect.  You merely provided some information I requested via a question.  Duh!  Then you inserted a slam as if even ten out of 100,000 of Americans even knew of the Heritage River's initiative, let alone the 1 out of  ten million that might have known that a portion of it was abolished.  LOL, you sure are impressed with your paultry defense of this lame brain.

bulls***. They are de facto forced to sell because NO ONE ELSE WILL BUY IT. Do you understand that the govt regulates these people so hard that they have to sell, or else go bankrupt because they can't pay the taxes or the mortgage, or the $$$ it costs to comply with the red tape, because they no longer have the income from the land, or, if they do the income no longer covers the costs tacked on? And no on else sure will buy it, for those same reasons.

Then in rushes the enviro groups as their 'savior.' Oh, BTW, do you know what they usually do? That's right, sell it to the govt. The govt gets property for cheap, the enviros make a killing, and we do the whole dog and pony show all over again. And voila, the amount of govt land owned edges a bit higher. What is it now nationally 40+% or so?
