A number of witnesses told authorities they had seen a man with convicted bomber Timothy McVeigh a few days before the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building that killed 168 people and wounded hundreds more. They said the man was not McVeigh's convicted co-conspirator Terry Nichols.

It was unlikely that "both" of the 2 other men with McVeigh were Nichols so I have to take this to really mean that neither man with McVeigh was Nichols.

The jury that convicted Nichols said that they believed in a larger group of participants that just Nichols and McVeigh. They found enough evidence to convict Nichols and did so.

Jose could be this man or it could be another man who walked the same path from gang banger to muslim terrorist. Jose seems to be in some key places at interesting times.

I still say he (McVeigh) picked up a couple of 'day laborers' who spoke little english and are willing to follow directions and do practically anything 'the boss' wants done ...

Such men would also not be likely to come to the authorities with any 'fill' information ...

I would like to see what documents in those thousands pages of suppressed documents relate to John Doe No. 2. Oh, and how about the release of the John Doe #2 videotapes? There are several John Doe #2 witnesses floating around. Can't any of them be found to give an ID on whether Padilla is indeed John Doe #2?

BTW, I would like to know what name Nichols called John Doe #2 by? He certainly didn't call him John Doe. Could he have called him "Jose?"

This aspect is usually overlooked in this mad goose-chase to 'find' additional accomplices - much of the original source for all this conspiracy talk was the result of a dis-information campaign conducted by TMcV's defense attorney - and John Doe #2 was a case of mistaken identity ...

Less than two weeks after the blast, investigators had found a man who exactly fit Kessinger's description of John Doe 2.

The man, an innocent soldier named Todd Bunting, had been in Elliott's Body Shop the day after McVeigh rented the Ryder truck.

But Kessinger stubbornly insisted that he had seen the two men together on the same day.

Only last November ['96] did Kessinger finally change his mind and identify Bunting as John Doe 2.

Jones, McVeigh's lawyer, relished bringing out Kessinger's contradictions at a hearing last month. Despite the judge's order not to talk about evidence or strategy to reporters, Jones kept feeding speculation to the press.

There was the suggestion that two Ryder trucks were involved in the blast and that the Feds had been warned before the bombing.

Government sources say Jones's theories are farfetched. But by hiring conspiracy-minded detectives (at taxpayer expense: Jones has so far billed the government for about $10 million), he hopes to baffle prospective jurors.

Wrong! Todd Bunting doesn't look a bit like John Doe #2. Also can you explain why the video camera surveillance tape of John Doe #2 at a Kansas City Subway shop was confiscated by the Feds and NEVER released?

I'm more interested why the Clinton Administration did not pursue this John Doe thing. Me thinks they are hiding something... but then again, Bill Clinton did more in his adminstration to stop these kinds of attacks. /sarcasm
