You can disagree, that's fine, but frankly I see nothing in the Constitution that says they are to be dolling out home loans do you?

I think these efforts are smart and will be very effective politically

So, you are for the redistribution of wealth in America? Right? Just go ahead and say it.

That is taxation and a seperate issue.

Bush has no, or very little, control of the amount that Congress appropriates. He is trying to shift this money away from the HUD machine. He is doing the same thing at Interior. In FY 2002, he shifted $50 mil out of $450 mil LWCF into private grants and is asking for $100 mil in fy 2003.

The real problem here is that the Bush Bashers are so zealous, they(you) don't recognize program that needs to be cheered.

There's a quite a few "white" folks who would qualify. It's low income, not race and it's tax credits and loans, not welfare.

And the GI Bill was a REWARD for putting your life on the line for your countrymen.

I don't know as I'd call it a "reward" but yes, it was created in recognition and thanks for their sacrifice. And it was a means for these returning Vets to get a college education (which actually meant something in those days), mainly because they gave their college years to the country.

I agree that Bush does not even resemble a conservative, but lets give the devil his due, he did at least temporarily reverse klintoon on the International Criminal Court, and the Keyoto globaloney treaty.

"Are you ridiculing Bush's Faith Based Initiatives?"

It's not Bush's -- it's the Manhattan Institute's and their funders'. Who's footing the bill for pushing so-called "Faith-based Initiatives?"

"No, you were played for a fool. I can read and knew better. I, however, must live with your mistake."

They'll get on the same Bandwagon again. You know it, I know it, and THEY know it. It's the only way they know how to think. Got to belong, ya' know.

Only idiots can't see it.

Sign me up for the idiot squad.

I guess only a genius can see that the true path to smaller government is through bigger government.

I still think Bush has done a lot of good things, but this ain't one of them.

If they needed handouts to survive in an apartment, how are they possibly going to afford upkeep on a home? Property tax and morgage payments. Repares and painting, siding and roofing when worn. Electric, water, cable, lawn mower, ......

We have people here in CA with homes that they were "helped" with financially, and what happens is that they cannot afford the water bills to keep their front lawns green, so they don't upkeep. They do get utility bill help as well. What else can we do for them? Pay for everything?

I can't think of ONE Clinton policy Bush has reversed.

Bush gave us a tax cut. Clinton raised the taxes on the elderly in September of his first term and made it retroactive back to January. In doing so, he screwed the retirees.
