2 differences I notice right off - JD#2 has thicker neck (I believe witnesses said he was built), and sketch of JD#2 shows a more square jaw. Eyebrows and lips are amazingly similar.

Doing a Mapquest Driving Directions Search for the following addresses: McVeigh 11240 NW 27th Ct, Plantation, FL and the Taco Bell Padilla is reported to have worked at 2250 S. University, Fort Lauderdale, FL the results state these two locations are 6.92 miles apart.

Distance between McVeigh's known address and Padilla's work address was 6.92 miles.

Mean anything? Maybe, maybe not.

Thanks. I just found one, too. The involvement and treatment of Brescia, Strassmeir, and others is interesting, but most of the sources I have found that have a photo of him seem to want to blame everything on some kind of Jewish conspiracy. They seem to ignore the Middle Eastern angle, too.

Of more importance is the Ft. Lauderdale Gun Show. I doubt McVeigh met at Taco Bell. Most likely, if they met, it would have happened at the Ft. Lauderdale Gun Show where lots of folks meet and talk.

wrong. there is a taco bell in plantation, fl. it is west of university drive, across from the broward mall, north side of broward boulevard. it is a taco bell/KFC joint venture, ie-- both restaurants are in the same freestanding outparcel.

WRONG! It is ON University Drive on the East side just a couple of blocks South of I-95. No KFC as part of it as I remember. I ate there just last Monday and drove past it today. It's in the Tower Shoppes shopping area.

we're talking about two differnt taco bells. i'm talking about one in plantation on west broward boulevard, just west of university drive. it is 1/2 KFC and 1/2 taco bell, both restaurants operate out of the same building. also, look for padilla's mother's address, i think you'll find it is around the broward boulevard/441 area that is officially unincorporated broward county, but borders the east side of the city of plantation.

plus, according to the miami herald (FWIW) padilla was arrested in broward county for discharging a firearm in a road rage incident in sunrise, fl. he was a resident of sunrise at the time. sunrise is just north of plantation. i point out the plantation taco bell/KFC location because it is closer to mcveigh's given address in the court docs. that mcveigh address is in western broward, between flamingo road on the west, hiatus road on the east, broward boulevard on the south and sunrise boulevard on the north.

Another point (aside from the Davie location) -- I don't believe they were building dual Taco Bell/KFC's back in 1992-93 in South Florida -- most of those are fairly new -- perhaps five years or so.

I agree with you about meeting at the Gun Show instead of Taco Bell. I guess I was trying to point out how close these two fellows were. Gee whiz ... I live in the DFW metroplex and six miles is like throwing a stone across a pond compared to the general 'drive' to work or dinner or visiting family in the area.

I also ate there last Monday. I had a steak burrito supreme. I must have had a psychosomatic reaction to it because last monday night, that burrito was really making me feel sick and the next day my right pinkie felt paralyzed. It's funny to think about it now but at the time (especially the paralyzed pinkie) it really scared me. BTW, the guy behind the counter had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned Padilla to him. Either they don't know or they have been told not to comment.
