June 16, 2002 -- The Jewish Defense Group - which says it wants to protect its neighborhood even as critics call them vigilantes looking to inflame tensions - will hit the streets today with its controversial armed patrols.

Leaders of the group last week raised the hackles of cops and other city leaders by vowing to patrol Jewish neighborhoods such as Borough Park and Flatbush.

I looked at your home page which was interesting. However, from what I read, it appears that you are not too crazy about Europeans because of Hitler. It's not really fair to blame a whole race of people because of a monster who came to power. Many people suffered and died along with the Jews. It shouldn't be an Us against Them kind of thing, meaning Jews against people of European descent. At this point we are all in the same boat, like it or not. The Islamics hate us all equally, and want the destruction of all of us. So to quibble about events that happened over 50 years ago, where most everyone involved suffered, does nothing to help solve the problem at hand.

As a Christian who lived for three years in Israel I'm not sure what you're referring to. What you speak of is certainly not true of the Israeli Jews, I don't have much personal experience with American Jews

I don't know. Every argument made by the antis here has no place on this thread. The fact is that when the government cannot protect the populace, the citizens have a right to arm themselves. I can't believe there are freepers who won't support that.

There were some problems before Y2K with Christian nut-groups who congregated in Israel, waiting for the end of the world, generally making a nuisance of themselves. That did happen, but obviously the world did not come to an end and I think the bunch of them were deported.

This was a very small minority of Christians who thought that killing Muslims would speed the Second Coming (not even close to Theologically sound if you ask me). Israel deported most of these folk, seeing what is going on now, they should've just let them do what they intended to do.

They should agitate to reform the gun laws not to set themselves above them. By doing so they say quite clearly: 1) Only jews matter. 2) Only jews can bear guns. Goys don't matter.

This is your own prejudice speaking of how you think Jews think. If these guys are who I think they are, they are a small enclave of Jews who live in their own little communities, representing less than 1% of American Jews. They have little or nothing to do with politics and are far removed from the Chucky Schumers and Joey Lieberman's of the world. They're kinda like the Amish of the big city, they just want to live in peace and their attitude with the rest of the world is live and let live. They're law abiding citizens and they pay taxes. Now they want to defend themselves because the government can't, and the big NY politicians (many of them Jewish) won't let them. I'll support them even only in spirit.

This is the first I've heard of the JDG so I don't know, but my initial guess is that they don't really know or care much about what goes on beyond their half mile radius community. There is a group called JPFO (Jews For the Preservation of Firearm Ownership) which does a lot to preserve the second ammendment. You should check em out. As far as I know they have more non-Jewish members than Jewish, in fact everyone I know who is a member is Baptist.

I am surprised that religious identity (or gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation for that matter) has anything to do with the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. I must have missed the fine print.

It would appear that the so-called anti-gun freepers in this thread perhaps aren't really anti-gun. They have some sort of problem with American Jews exercising their right of self defense. I don't see it as an anti-gun stance as much as I do an anti-Jews-with-guns stance. As such, it seems to be a far more deep seeded problem than a simple anti-gun position.

You’re right that at first glance the thread is more about hatred that an anti-gun or anti-constitutional rights stance.

However the history of gun control in America has been one of hatred, and the fear it can engender in the population, from the first post reconstruction laws depriving blacks of guns, to the teen’s in NY in reaction to eastern European immigrants, the 1930’s in reaction to immigrant mobsters, to the 1960’s and the fear of riots in our cities. The same song was played effectively in the 90s through demonizantion of the right and focus on “right wing militia groups” as a threat. It’s effective, note that the articles on this topic and some anti posters refer to these as “right wing” Jews, the most dangerous kind I guess.

I think this hate based demonization is a major threat to our liberties, not just gun rights, which crosses ideological lines of “right or left”, “conservative or liberal” as we see here. As a poster notes, “an innocent Arab could be killed by a Jew”. He’s right, and if it happens his solution, and many others (not just liberals) will be gun control.

There are good and evil men, every where and in every race and religion. Look at what Jesus said to the religious scholars of his day, he called them sons of the Devil.

When you really get to looking at things that Jesus said he was not very PC. He didn't have to speak volumes to get His meaning across, or speak long flowery speeches flattering, or condemning. He could pass more meaning in five words than ordinary men using thousands of words.

God's contract was with Abraham, and the promises God made Abraham passed to Isaac. Just because Abraham may have had some bad decendents does not void that contract, because even though they have gone back on their word, God will never go back on His for the sake of His holy name and His love for Abraham. We have to be able to count on Him to keep His word and He will, there is no shadow of turning with God.

Now after being scattered a very long time Israel is a nation again, anyone who mess's with that unlikely fact is risking what they don't want to risk. The next time someone tries to convince you there is no such thing as God, remember these judgments He gave Israel.

You keep repeating that 30,000 figure when you know it is only part of the death toll. Collaborators in the 1939-1940 period are responsible for 1.5 million Christians being put into cattle cars and shipped to the gulags of Siberia.

And there was no Vichy Poland. There was no organized collaboration of Christian Poles with the Nazis or the Soviets. Helena Brus, however, is responsible for the murder of the Polish hero,General Fieldorf, who assassinated the Gestapo chief in Warsaw. There was massive Jewish collaboration with the Soviets.
