I'm only supposing measles due to the anecdotal evidence referenced in the first link I provided. Besides a lack of trained medical personnel, it seems there is a translation problem as well in the regions where "smallpox" has been reported.

Actually, I'd say it's more likely to be monkeypox or chicken pox. There's no data on this matter at CDC. They're probably just starting to reach the town to investigate.
