"Where did you hear all that? Who said a US Atty couldn't charge him, etc. I haven't read any of that."

I spoke to a bud at in a certain Federal Agency. Yes the US Attorney went to get him charged last month, but even with the limited threshold they did not have enough. Hense, the transfer to DOD. I really do not have a problem with this. I understand protecting sources and methods. But I want the AG to say it. They have done this before. Lets stop playing games this is serious stuff. The Constitution is no joke. Either suspend the Habeas Corpus provisions and tell everyone this, or cut it out.

We are in the right hands, and we are safer than I'd thought we could be. But like you said.. that in no way means we are safe. To let our gaurd down now, would be suicidal!!

Yes, I actually breathed a sigh of relief when he was finally elected. I wasn't sleeping very well at night, the last few years of the clintoon admin. And though I'm not in agreement with the lenient border policies, and I'd like to see us even tougher on terrorism than we are at the moment, we are definitely on the right track, after years of muddled and half-baked policies.

And I will never understand people who are one-issue voters and just because they don't agree with absolutely everything W does, say that they won't vote for him next time! Nonsense.

So, you're on a public forum raising smoke about something somebody told you, privately, that none of us can verify, look up, no links to it, etc. Not to mention all we know about you is your screen name, really. How do we know you are telling the truth? We don't. So, until I can get more information and a source other than a certain someone you know, etc., I'll hold off on any comments questioning what is being done with this criminal who wants to blow us all up.

Their hatred of Bush clouds everything, even in rooting for our success at preventing a nuclear attack.

No my problem is following the Constitution. In the Mujahir case I have been told by a bud in a certain Federal Agency that the US Attorney could not get the charge he wanted due to a lack of evidence and was on the verge of having to release since protecting of sources and methods was the priority even with using the lower threshold. Hense the transfer to DOD without charge just detaiment so far.

Now, with the Moussaoui case this moron is being tried by US Law. Again it is my understanding we have a dual Citizenship with Moussaoui but I will check again. I could be wrong. There is no differenc between the two. Why try one within the US Legal system especially if not a US Citizen and then not try the US Citizen the same way? For that matter Johnny Linh should not be given anymore rights than Mujahir. Both wanted to harm Americans.

My problem is NO CHARGES and detaining a US Citizen under DOD without charge. Or at least someone saying transfer pending charges. If this guy is a real national security threat, then lets deal with him as one.

So far all those I have talk to today in DC have not said anything near what you have said. I think the reason why this was released today was because the liberals were about ready to attack again for holding someone this time an American without charges. I am not taking anyones word for anything without somme form of explaniation or charge. This is not the way we do things. If he was an illegal or foreigner then even I would close my eyes to some degree. Why then do we have GITMO? If we can treat a US Citizen arrested on US Soil this way, why do we need GITMO?

I would perfer the AG just to come out and say, We believe he is a threat to national security and we are going to hold him anayway. My fear is that another attack and misuse of this method of detaining folk could get out of hand.

Just suspend the Habeas Corpus provisions for these type of cases. It make things easier.

Try doing a little research yourself.... Maybe try a NYC Lawyer by the name of Cohen. He knows the case better than all of us.

Actually, if you think about it, whatever your friend at the "certain federal agency" said makes no sense given Mujahir's present status. I have laid out to you what's going on in this case. I have proven there is no similarity to the Moussaoui case....I have stated the change in his status....you are maybe misunderstanding what your friend said, or you are not hearing from me the answer which you wish to hear.

Either way, I am sorry, but I can give you no more information than I have given.

To make things easier my biggest fear is we are going to blow it and sso the next time those naysayers will point fingers. I rather use a system that I trust we are playing in uncharter waters going outside the system.

TIMELINE -- Let's review

WEDSENDAY, May 8th, 2002
Jose Padilla, also known as Al Mujahir, was arrested as he flew from Pakistan into Chicago O'Hare International Airport. He's detained before re-entering the country, but Bush tells nobody.

About 3 weeks later . . .

SUNDAY, June 6/2/02
The spokesman for the al-Qaida terror group (believing they got their boy into the US safe) has threatened "more attacks on Americans" in a message published by the pan-Arab daily Al-Hayat.

About a week later . . .
SUNDAY, June 9th, 2002
ARAFAT warns the world of a "disastrous explosion that will impact stability of the whole world."

MONDAY June 10, 2002 Bush and Ashcroft inform Al-Qaida, Arafat, and the rest of the world that their boy has been BUSTED!

My only question is what happened between his arrest on May 8th and today ? Did GWB and their boys spoof this guys Identity on-line to find his support network? Did they pretend to be Padilla in emails and/or phone calls to the people helping him ?

Thank you GWB for saving my life.
The least I can do is vote for you.

Hey Dave... who said I watched it multiple times or even twice? I happen to feel those who can HANDLE it should watch it! So it won't continue to happen to other Americans. That is my humble opinion. Reality vs. this insane mindset that "we have to protect the rights of criminals". NO.. BEEEEP.. wrong answer!

We need to understand that these people are animals. And if everyone would just "get it" from reading about it.. we wouldn't be having a conversation EVER about these animals having RIGHTS! OK?

I've seen horrible things working in medicine, I could handle seeing this without it affecting me phsycologically. But it IS HORRIFIC. I tried to warn those like you who cannot handle it to NOT watch it. (I'm not being facitious when I say that.. I respect that not everyone CAN handle it). It is NOT For the faint of heart, or stomach or psychic.

The Constitution is being followed, but the naysayers will point fingers whether we "blow it" or not. That much should be obvious just from reading this thread.

Then arrest him off of US Soil. You can't have your cake and eat it to at the expense of the US Constitution

Ex-Parte Quirin says your wrong about him pal.

And here's a news flash for you, the Constitution is NOT a suicide pact.

"Tell this to the wall!

Uh hmmm... if you mean the Vietnam Wall, I can tell you that the majority there would NOT have afforded people as EVIL, barbaric and monsterous as these animals to be afforded all the political and legal loopholes they get in order to continue to kill innocent Americans!! The people on the wall.. gave their lives to DEFEND AMERICANS and the principals we live by.. the MORAL principals.. not to enable people to kill us and do so legally!!!
