Johnny Jihad obviously doesn't have any information. He was just a grunt.

Padilla was an insider, and it's apparent the web around him must be pretty tight. DOJ wants to avoid discovery here, as they do in Moussaoui.

I haven't had a chance to read old posts of their's but is it safe to bet that last week DUmmies were whining and complaining that the current administration is not doing enough to protect Americans?

"Sorry I am late on the post, but why are they releasing this information now? The guy was not caught today."

I am now being to ask the same question. What gives here?

Put him on ice in Alaska. Then start putting the questions to him.

Have any of the DUmmies watched the Pearl video? Have they had anything to say about it?

What did the DU posts say about Pearl's execution?

So, assuming these terrorists have been planning things for at least five years, there are probably citizens of the U.S. who are terrorists. Lovely.

Quite possible.

So, why do people always distinguish between citizens and non-citizens when talking about "what to do with the middle easterners"? Any ideas?

Because citizens (used to) have expanded rights (gun ownership, unlawful search, right to counsel).
And in the case of deportation, where could you deport a US citizen ?

Wrong! Moussaoui has been charged. This guy has not. We have a set of laws, a Constitution. If this guy is a serious National Security Threat then the US Attorney would have gotten him charged as one.

What happens if this later comes to light as nothing more than a intelligence source blowing smoke. Does Richard Jewel mean anything to you?

The US Attorney had a threshold low enough to get a ham and cheese sandwich charged. Why not here?

When your central bank can create 'money' (debt) out of thin air, I would call that unlimited access to unlimited funds.

Not necessarily so. The central bank cant create money if doing so exceeds the debt limit set by congress. Right now, Bush is having to move funds from federal pension funds, etc to cover borrowing because we are up against the debt limit and the Dems wont raise it. Without an increase in the allowed level of debt, the Federal Reserve cant do its magic. So yes there are limits.

BTW, your local bank can create money as well. They make loans. Its all done with computers. You dont really think First National goes into their vault and just hands over funds kept their for their passbook holders, do you??

I agree but I think it was a mistake to give JJ the criminal venue. Military tribunal then about 20 at Leavenworth. He'd still be a rather young man upon release.

Execution or life if proven he helped to kill Spann.

Two of the German saboteurs that the Supreme Court approved of the military trial of in WWII were U.S. citizens. One of the two was executed.

However, the Windex-crud interaction force isn't spherically symmetric initially. It's got planar symmetry, a CInfinityV point group, IMHO, also depending upon the window geometry.

Well one has to decide whether to go with molecule-molecule, or bulk interactions... That'll dictate the symmetry... With mol-mol maybe you could approx as spherical and slap together some H-like wavefunctions, concentrate on isolated 2-body interaction, calculate overlap integral... I am all about approximating crap as spheres, haha...

I'd try a Lennard-Jones 6-12 potential function. I don't really think there is any angular dependence, and while the colatitude might have some small effect, I'd bet it's negligible.

Hmmmm... Yeah sure in the beginning you could talk about the Windex adsorbing onto the crud-surface and model it as W-C, two body surface formation, in some potential well, but at some point it becomes energetically favorable for crud to dissociate from surface bonded to W and take a repulsive route of some sort... Of course if you look at Windex-crud bonding orientation, the bond strengths are going to be all about angular dependence... I dig my napkin-back static coeff scenario better... Calculate rate and extent of dissolution, which won't be instantaneous and 100% as Windex would claim...

No, I got the link to the video of the Pearl execution from this thread, not Democrat Underground.

Like I said, I haven't had a chance to spend a long period of time reading DU posts (I'm happy and content here at FR!) so I have no idea if the DU posters know about being able to see the Pearl video and if so, have they seen it and following that what their comments could be about it.

Look at your statement, none of this is happening here. There is no trial, no charge, nothing. Why?

Are you suggesting that anyone suspected of waging war against the US on our soil strictly be held or tried by civilian authorities?

He's only just been turned over to the Defense Department. It'll take the department time to decide on the disposition of the case.

"Yes, he is an American Citizen now, but that doesn't mean that at one time he wasn't an illegal alien who later received amnesty".

If so, he didn't recieve it here. He was born here.

Anchor baby, perhaps?
