All I know is that the first thing I said was most unprintable, but it did relate to our state's history of dairy farming--with my eyes quite wide.My first thought was the lake - there goes the water supply for a few states! We're just 1/2 hour north of the border and already have to deal with the pollution from Chitown and Gary, but that's nothing compared to what one of these dirty bombs could do. Sure glad they got this guy...but I can't help but wonder if there are more lurking about.

Of course we should never ignore the exceptions. That was part of my point. But if we act according to our knowledge of what 90% of the terrorists look like, we'll have better results than stopping just stopping every fifteenth person (including little girls and old ladies) in line at the airport.
Profiling is a single tool in our arsenal against threats, but it is an effective tool, and we shouldn't put it on the shelf in the name of political correctness.

Washington DC according to all the reports. So what's he doing in Chicago? It's a fur piece from Chicago to DC. I mean, he didn't have to land at Reagan, but he could've picked an airport on the East Coast, Philly, for example.
Gee, could it have something to do with the fact that he lives in Chicago? Duh.

it's only human they would want people to know of the things they have been able to prevent. Put yourself in their position, for crying out loud! Would you like it if people heard only about your failures? You make my point well. Forget about the failures. I'm talking Homeland Security, post 9/11. Week after week, if there were only warnings -- and nothing prevented (nothing to prevent) -- if I were in their position, I just might give some serious thought to staging a prevention.
Richard M. Nixon would do it. Perhaps the current bunch would, too. If that makes me a conspiracy nut, so be it.

So Freddie Mercury faked his death?

But isn't better to have a dirty atomic bomb explode in the USA than to stoop to ethnic profiling? After all, ethnic profiling is the greatest evil on the planet.
To: texasbluebell
Of course, we don't know if Chicago was the original target, but you can bet this terrorist would have gotten quite a bit of help from the radical Islamic groups in Chicago. Why not? They've already targeted one hospital, and the S.W. suburbs of Chicago have a very large Muzzie population.
Deport 'em all, I say. And if they don't leave willingly, show 'em Mr. Smith & Mr. Wesson. Up close, of course.

Though I do not trust everything that the Government says and does. Anyone who does this is a damn fool.Bingo! Of course, that means the choice is between being a damn fool or a conspiracy nut. Among this crowd, I'll take the latter.

Holding a US passport Al Queda knew he could travel freely. Conventional bomb with radioactive substance and they know from several sources he was working with other known terrorists and they were intending to kill American citizens. Held in Charleston, S.C.
