Millions of Blacks Coming to DC for Reparations Rally
The Black World Today ^ | June 9, 2002 | Conrad W. Worrill

Posted on 06/10/2002 6:58:31 AM PDT by H8DEMS

The Millions For Reparations Rally that will be held on August 17, 2002, the 115th birthday of the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey, in Washington, D.C. promises to be one of the most historic gatherings of African people in America.

Day-by-day, African people in America are becoming more familiar with the concept of reparations and what it means to our continued struggle in America for self-determination, liberation, independence, and freedom. Therefore, we must be clear that reparations means repair for the damages inflicted on a people or a nation.

In pursuit of this repair, we are conscious of the fact we must engage in the process of assuming responsibility for repairing ourselves that includes: changing the way we think, supporting our own institutions, particularly financially, supporting our families, supporting our own Black business enterprises, cleaning up our own communities, and changing the way we relate to, and think of, each other as a people. These are just a few of the internal repairs we must constantly work on.

In this connection, part of our internal repair is to struggle, fight, mobilize, and organize to demand external reparations from those governments, corporations, and institutions that are responsible for our historical and continuing state of oppression. Just as Jewish people proclaim “Never Forget,” African people should do no less.

We should “Never Forget” that “They Owe Us!” Part of our internal repair is to consciously understand that, “We Are Owed” and have a historic responsibility to demand reparations from those forces of white supremacy that continue to benefit from what they did to us that lingers on as part of the vestiges of our enslavement.

As we prepare for our participation in the Millions For Reparations Rally on August 17, 2002, we should be clear that They Owe Us For:

1. The Trans Atlantic Slave Trade and Slavery - The United Nations World Conference Against Racism declared that the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade and Slavery were Crimes Against Humanity. Crimes against humanity have no statute of limitations.

2. Expropriation of Our Labor- For more than 250 years, we were forced to work for free. Our free labor was a major ingredient in the building of America and its wealth as a nation. Also, the thousands of white individuals and their families’ accumulated wealth that continues to benefit them as a result of our free labor.

3. Slave Code Laws- The slave owners developed their own codes of what they could do to enslaved African people in America that permeated throughout the emergence of this country. In many ways, informal slave codes exist today (racial profiling).

4. Destruction of the African Family- The Trans Atlantic Slave Trade and Slavery had a devastating impact on destroying and dismantling African families.

5. Raping of African Women- Our capture and enslavement provided white men with the power to rape African women and girls by the thousands without reprisal.

6. Fugitive Slave Laws- When our enslaved ancestors resisted their enslavement and fled plantations, the government of this country sanctioned laws and policies that supported the capture and return of so-called runaway enslaved Africans. The Dred Scott Decision should be consulted to fully understand the implications of the Fugitive Slave Laws.

7. Colonizing of Our African Culture- Created systems by law and societal practices that forbade African people, in our captured state, to engage in our traditional spiritual cultural practices.

8. KKK Night Riders and Lynchings- The Ku Klux Klan was established in the late 1860s as a secret society whose mission was to exterminate, by any means necessary, African people in America. They were known to have been responsible for the lynching and murdering of thousands of African men, women, and children.

9. The 13th and 14th Constitutional Amendments- The abolishment of slavery was really a constitutional scam and the 14th Amendment that allegedly made African people citizens of America was imposed on us. We were never asked if we wanted to be citizens.

10. Denied Our 40 Acres and a Mule- We didn’t get it! It was sold down the river and the land was given to white confederate soldiers.

11. Jim Crow Laws- The Jim Crow Policies of America became the fabric and foundation of American society after the period of Reconstruction. Jim Crow Laws and Policies reinforced the foundation of white supremacy and Black inferiority in every aspect of American society.

12. Fighting and Dying In Imperialist and White Supremacist Wars- We fought and died for the freedoms of others and were denied our own freedoms and civil rights.

13. Assassination of Black Leaders- Malcolm X, Dr. King, Fred Hampton, and Mark Clark to name a few.

14. COINTELPRO- This was a government program, established by the FBI, under the direction of J. Edgar Hoover, designed to destroy the Black Power Movement of the 1960s and 70s.

15. Crack Epidemic- Research reveals the United States Government, through the CIA, targeted Black communities for the dispensing of Crack Cocaine.

16. Criminalizing Our Youth- It should be obvious that the aim of the Prison Industrial Complex is to Criminalize Our Youth to insure a young and viable work force for this multibillion-dollar industry.

17. Jailing of Freedom Fighters- The incarcerating of our Freedom Fighter thus, making them Political Prisoners.

18. & 19. Centuries of Mis-Education and Mental Atrocities- This has caused serious damage to our people, which continues to cause much mental confusion about our true reality as an African people in America and around the world.

I am sure, as we approach August 17, 2002, you can add to this humble list of why “They Owe Us!”

Forcing crack on the LA black community was I believe the myth created by Maxine and her angry cohorts. I will never forget her leading the charge and egging the rioters on during the Rodney King riots. She is truly a disgrace.

I pray that this rally happens - How many democratic senators and reps will show? If they show they will lose every white, hispanic, & asian voter - If they don't show their black base will be significantly damaged. I'm all for this rally.

I'd don't know where to start. What I do know is I don't know them a red cent. What's more is the ingratitude of these wretches for everything this beautiful country has given them. The hundreds of thousands of white American Union soldiers who fought a divisive war to help set them free and offer them the promise of American citizenship - it was all a scam. That what they really wanted was to go back to Africa. Back in 1865 we should have forcibly deported them all back and we wouldn't have had segregation and Jim Crow and the lot of the racial conflicts we've had up to now. Silly me for thinking a multiracial society could work in this country. Actually it does for virtually every one else. If they're so unhappy here they can all fly back home right now and no one will stand in their way. But I'll be damned if they extort a country to whom they claim no attachment and no loyalty and they'll get their so called reparations loot only over my dead body. Now there I'm had my rant and the fill of people who whine whine whine and never thank the Good Lord for the blessings of freedom and being alive.

I suspect that another South Africa is planned for the US.

I do think they were cheated out of "40 Acres and a Mule".

Not at all. "40 Acres and a Mule" was a proposal by General Sherman after the war. President Johnson repeatedly vetoed any possibility of this becoming the law of the land. There was never any promise. Ergo, no land (nor pack animal) is owed.

The National Black United Front (NBUF), under the leadership of Dr. Conrad Worrill, launched a "We Charge Genocide Campaign," which with the support of the New York based December 12th Movement (D-12), significantly contributed to the popular education of Africans in America about the underlying causes and rationale for reparations. NBUF and D-12 collected thousands of signatures on petitions and presented them to the United Nations. Minister Silas Muhammad and his followers also gathered signatures and took them to the United Nations. In the most recent period, Deadria Farmer-Paellmann broke new ground with her pioneering research on the role of U.S. corporations in perpetuating and/or profiting from slavery (Ms. Paellmann recently sued Fleet Bank, Aetna Insurance Company and CSX Corp. for reparations).

There is no "December 12th Movement" as such, as opposed to one man, Robert "Sonny" Carson. Carson, a convicted kidnapper, has led criminal gangs in Brooklyn since the 1960s. In 1968, as part of the "community control" (read: apartheid) movement in Ocean Hill-Brownsville, his gang attacked white school teachers, and helped precipiate a series of teachers strikes.

During the 1970s, Carson spent a few years in prison. The 1980s saw him publicly demanding extortion money from Korean grocers whose stores had brought the first fresh produce that many black neighborhoods had seen in generations. When the grocers would not pay the extortion, he started -- with the help of New York City Mayor David N. Dinkins -- a violent "boycott" against two Korean groceries in Flatbush, Brooklyn.

Since the 1960s, Carson has worked continuously -- with black "educators" -- to run white teachers out of schools serving predominantly black children, and has even had his henchman brutally beat up black school administrators who refused to cede control of schools to Carson.

New York City's school officials response to Carson was to do ... nothing.

The teachers' union (United Federation of Teachers) response to Carson was to do ... nothing.

A series of prosecutors' response to Carson has been to do ... nothing.

A series of New York City mayors' response to Carson has been to do ... nothing. The exception to that rule was mayor David N. Dinkins, who helped Carson, by ordering the NYPD to violate a court order, which demanded that police keep Carson's thugs at least 100 feet away from the stores they were "boycotting." Until a second judge ordered Dinkins to comply, the mayor had ordered police to ignore constant death threats and assaults against the Korean grocers.

Folks, the smarter members of the black liberal intelligentsia want Reparations to die an ignominious death.

The more that black liberals agitate for Reparations, the more it becomes an argument about money, not about justice. This works for Republicans, in that it corrodes the "moral authority" of the Race Hustlers.

Basically, the smart politicos know that the minute some company or the Government writes out a reparations check, white, hispanic, and Asian America is just going to think "uh oh, they're putting their hands in my pocket!" And they're right. This is just another wealth transfer scam that a few wealthy blacks (and whites) are positioning themselves to dip into.

The liberal Dems know that this will lead to a fissure in the Democratic Party, as more black liberal Democratic activists warm to the idea of reparations as a deus ex machina. Up and coming Democratic white liberals, especially Clintonoids, will have to put up with and compromise with the looters. One only has to look to Gray Davis' hijinks in the California gubernatorial campaign to see how many white liberals will be affected by this sad attempt at looting.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Fine, all "non-citizens" can have a one-way ticket back to that paradise Africa.

Okay. Here we go.

I understand where you are coming from. I really do. But this statement (which is said all the time concerning this issue on FR) is overrunning with flawed logic. Question: How do you go "back" where you've never been?

You can't.

Now, if you mean that those American blacks who think that the U.S. of A. is a hellhole should emigrate to Africa, not only would you be right, I would loudly agree with you!

But you can't go "back" where you've never been. I've told other blacks who "enlightened" me that America is this and America is that they are free to go, and that are free to alleviate themselves of the abuse they think that they suffer by simply leaving. I have no problem raising the point that there is no solida ilegal here like there is in Castro's Cuba. Of course, this enrages them all the more. But it's true. I tell them that you most certainly can't go "back" to Africa, but, you can leave and relocate there any time you wish.

So I think there's still a lot of work to do and we can't look at some well-intentioned efforts and then assume that we've solved the problem or really adequately addressed the problem. We're not there yet.

What Ogletree and Jesse Jackson and Randall Robinson and all the other warlords who are spearheading this effort won't tell you is that their goal is not to get "reparations" money paid to all blacks (like they would pay an "Uncle Tom" like me [rolling eyes]; in their eyes, I'm the enemy; I'm practically white!).

They want the proceeds from these lawsuits to be paid to "organizations" that "help" the black community. In other words, this is yet another shakedown attempt from Jesse Jackson and company.

I will NOT write a reparations check to anybody, unless I had something to do with the evil committed.

That's why they never require you to write a separate check. It will come out of general revenues, just like all "buy vote" scams. If they pass it, you will pay. Or they will shoot you if you resist vigorously enough, just like all taxes.

One of Marcus Garvey's innovations was to call on blacks to sue whites over segregation, even though he believed in segregation. And so, segregationist black organizations -- including the NAACP, which (not whites!) was behind the prosecution of Garvey -- routinely sue and otherwise shakedown white-owned businesses and public agencies.
