Any of your "crack" reporters care to interview any Afghanis about this? Maybe talk to a few of the girls begging to get into crowded classrooms to finally be able to learn something again vs. being treated worse that cattle? Maybe the people who can laugh out loud again without being arrested? Maybe a few women decapitated for being seen without a closely relate male? (Ooops!! Too late for that interview, I guess!)
I don't see Lebanon electing the ousted Taliban leaders to run their country. I am sure you can persuade them to come there pretty cheaply!
What was the name of this paper, ass-Lickir? It is articles like this that are the true source of Arab humiliation!
Next. What about blaming all the Arab countries that already chucked their a$$e$ out... in some cases brutally like the Jordanians did. Kuwait does not want them there, ditto for Saudi Arabia. Why do fellow Arabs not want them there? Because they are like troublesome little kids with ADHD and guns. When the Palestinians grow up maybe they will be able to get somewhere. Until then they are just a national pain in the rear to the world.
Finally. What idiots they are. We are easy to get along with. Don't bomb us or our friends. Don't do things that cause us to have to spend money and raise taxes. Don't make us even have to even know you are there as a group. Make something we want to buy, or make your country a spot we want to visit. Hundreds of small countries have done this and live very good lives on our dollars.
Play like a good citizen of the human race and your kids will be able to study here, our universities will spend money studying there, and our companies will decide to erect factories and millions will flow in. If you need our attention sometime, then threaten to cane one of our brat kids who vandalised a statue or something while in your country and our press and government will give you your 15 minutes. Other than that, you be you, and let us be us and quit being such destructive children.
Other smart SMALL countries of the world have made a very comfortable living and place in the world doing that. No you can't be us, or more important than any other country with under 20 million. That is not so bad. After all if you are making money off us and not making yourselves part of our military train scenarios and planning that is a good thing in life.
Combine low literacy with state controlled media in virtually ALL Muslims countries, you have the raw material for propogation of false claims, incitement to believe false things, and incitement to violence.
Usually one looks to national leaders, elected, crowned or whatever, to cause a semblance of sane behavior by the populace. It is taking a long time, to determine who "is with us or against us" in the war on terrorism.
Authors Pipes, Emerson and others equally well versed warn that around 10 to 15 percent of Muslims are in support of the radical, militant faction. Islam is both a religion and a political philosophy.
Bush and his diplomats MUST put each nation on warning, that any state involvement (and I include permitting incitement) will be viewed as a hostile act, met with appropriate response. Bush should tell Tony Blair to round up the mullahs doing incitement in their mosques.
Free speech has boundaries in the US, correctly, for the bad consequences it can generate.
Arab humiliation is largely self-inflicted, due to a cowardly moral foundation. When did you last have a muslim people, rise up against a dictator, and fight for their own freedoms and rights?
Most places with freedoms, have a just moral foundation, and they also have a population brave enough, to have demanded, fought and died for those freedoms, at some point.
These easily led cowards, forever shift blame for their poor condition, to some external non-muslim source. The truth is their poor conditions are entirely due to their own shortcomings. Islam is the problem.
Radical Islam is only a part of the overall problem. Either they get their acts together, or a lotta muslims are going to graves, methinks.
