Taking it a step further, let us also imagine there is a widespread prejudice toward Christianity and Christians. In order to combat that, public school-system officials wouldn't even think of teaching the history of Christianity and explaining that Christianity is a great and acceptable lifestyle and religion. Yet, they do this with homosexuality.

Doublespeak, disinformation and propaganda are an epidemic in the political and cultural world of America.

My son's (private school) summer reading list included Brave New World. He also has a Dad-required supplemental reading assignment of 1984.

Teach the young to recognize these techniques early.

I'll probably also have him read the propaganda chapter of Mein Kampf right after reading 1984. The Big Lie has been in constant use by the Left for at least 40 years.

The kid's pretty sharp I think he knows Christians views on morality arent well accepted in the Public forum and wrote this "tongue in cheek" Well I'm pretty sure he did....even though there is no empirical evidence :)

However, without political pressure, school administrators and teachers would probably treat each discrimination case independently and use disciplinary action, if necessary. That's exactly what happened when anti-Semitism and discrimination against blacks were widespread.

BTW, the summary of the very next article in the journal states: "In this study, 202 consumers of sexual orientation conversion interventions were interviewed to answer these questions. The results indicated that a majority failed to change sexual orientation, and many reported that they associated harm with conversion interventions. A minority reported feeling helped, although not necessarily with their original goal of changing sexual orientation."

Frankly, I doubt it's the "brainwashing" by itself that's being objected to -- it's the direction such "brainwashing" goes.

You should see the Anthropology textbook I'm supposed to teach a 100-level college course from. There's a section devoted to a tribe in New Guinea in which, they say, homosexuality is "not stigmatized." They go on to describe cultural practices that include 10-year old boys being "inseminated" by adult males. At 11 or 12, they are given to one older man to be used for anal sex. They think this makes their beards grow. This goes on all throughout their teen years apparently, and ultimately, when they are around 20, and "initiated" into adulthood by servicing many male members of the tribe. And all this is described as homosexual activity.

Thing is, if it starts at age 10, I'd call it child abuse, but that's just my Western Bias at work. The same book goes on to say that the UN's work on human rights has enlightened our world a great deal, moving us further away from the evils of patriarchy. Funny that the UNs human rights don't seem to include the right of 10 year old boys not to have to give blowjobs and take it in the rear.

I'm amazed that it has taken this long for the rank and file Americans to wake up to this sort of propagandizing. No mention of the word "God" is allowed in government schools, possession of aspirin is verboten, and probably cannot even be dispensed by a Teacher without parental notification, yet an abortion is "none of the parents business." And now the sodomites want access to young, impressionable minds. Go figure.

This “study” was a volunteer study and has no value in determining the real success and failure rate. Should we advertise on Exodus and NARTH for volunteers to see if it has the same success rate? You should really do your homework before you proffer such foolishness.
