RATT was some of the worst bullshit noise ever imposed on an unwitting public.

I saw the Ramones in 1980 at the Palladium in NYC. What a show. Non-stop, no breaks, hard core energy. Just 1-2-3-4 from one song to the next.

If I didn't have a huge headache from taking a punch in the side of the head (that's another story) I probably would have had more fun, but it was still great.

Sorry to see Dee Dee and Joey go. The Ramones are gone forever I guess.

I remember when Hendrix died and it affected me more than any of the others at that time:

Pig Pen
Janis
Jim Morrison
Otis Redding
Mama Cass

But with all the warnings out there, they still geez it up don't they?

Geez this is a horrible time losing some good musitiams.
My niece has been studying sound engineering in a college in north Texas for 2 years now and asked for my opinion of the best music I've ever heard. Well for last Christmas I put togeather a 12 CD set for her (SORRY, No royalties paid. I already paid for the music and I'm using it for her education. We're both really into music) I had everything from Bethtoven to White Zombie. Ratt made two tracks. Way Cool, Jr. (The opening solo did such a great job of setting a really gritty tone to the whole song) and "Lack of Communication" because of great insight into the human experiance. Did he do Lack? Very powerful, in-your-face strings to carry out the entire feeling of the song.

The hyperbole of this thread's title is not warranted. It is hard to imagine two more insignificant axemen than these two.

The death's of Layne Staley from Alice In Chains was a waste. A total waste of incredible talent, gone forever due to an addiction to heroin. Dee Dee Ramone from the famous punk band The Ramones died of the very same thing a little more than a day ago. Robbin Crosby one of 2 guitarists in the 80s hard rock act RATT died from a long battle with AIDS, attributed from use of a dirty heroin needle.

A waste? Hardly. They lived freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Libertarians everywhere are rejoicing on behalf of these heroic corpses--these men who were brave enough to face death nose-to-nose and spit it in the eye.

FYI - he was related to Bing Crosby - hence the last name.

Staley was left undiscovered in his apartment for two weeks before anyone bothered to check on him. I feel sorry that he passed, but I despised his music no matter how harminic. The song "Man in a box" is reprehensible trash.

"Man In The Box"

I'm the man in the box
Buried in my sh!$
Won't you come and save me, save me

[CHORUS]

Feed my eyes, can you sew them shut?
Jesus Christ, deny your maker
He who tries, will be wasted
Feed my eyes now you've sewn them shut

I'm the dog who gets beat
Shove my nose in sh!$ Won't you come and save me, save me

Not to be mean, but you call that "incredible talent???" Pfffiff...What a bunch of losers.

Maybe the Taliban infected the poppies with poison and sold the poppies to the KLA in Europe who then smuggled them to England where they were then imported to the USA to kill off rock stars?

Seriously, it is shocking to see all these needless deaths.

It looks like rock musicians should have their own wing in the Darwin Awards Hall of Fame.

Not my genre of music, but very glad to see that his life everlasting is with the King of kings and LORD of Lords. THAT is what it's all about.

RIP to both but Stepen Pearcy was the RATT sound. Listen to him and Dweezil jam and you'll know he needed to break out.

Sorry to see the Ramones lose two in one year.
