Get lucky with Las Vegas fares starting at $80 R/T! United is offering sale fares between Las Vegas and West Coast cities, and Northwest has announced a similar deal to/from cities in the East and Midwest. Fares to Vegas start as low as $80 round-trip, for flights from Los Angeles (LAX) on United.

America West has also released a Vegas deal, with round-trip flights for two as low as $80 per person. Travel is valid between Las Vegas and cities the airline serves throughout the U.S., plus Mexico City, Mexico.

For all three airlines, travel is valid through September 30. Purchase tickets online only, at least seven days before departure, and by Sunday, June 9.

Sample fares include flights between Las Vegas and:

* Boston for $219: America West
* Dallas (Ft. Worth) for $185: America West
* Detroit (DTW) for $205: Northwest
* Los Angeles (LAX) for $80: United
* Minneapolis for $205: Northwest
* New York (Newark) for $215: America West
* Santa Barbara for $100: United
* Seattle for $160: United
* Tucson for $85: America West
* Washington (Baltimore or Reagan National) for $215: Northwest

The FReeper FRugal Gourmet can find affordable breakfast and lunch restaurants both on and directly off the Strip in Las Vegas.

I've always been partial to those 99 cent 1lb hotdogs down at the Westward Ho :)

One question for all the good folks interested in attending the Las Vegas conference: will any one be heading for the casinos between sessions? :-)

For breakfast?

When I go to Vegas I'm really not up until lunch time. :)

If I ever go into a casino, it's later in the evening and then only to watch the drunks walk into the mirrored walls. ;-)

Shunuvabish won't git outta my way!!!

Noy anyone associated with FR or FRN. I assume that Smarter Living is a travel agency and maybe they are getting a referral fee or commission for pushing the fares to the specific airlines.

I myself intend to do extensive field research of those locales, yes. For scientific purposes only, of course ;)

Was at Circus last weekend and it was wall-to-wall tourists. Next time, let's go to Laughlin. It's half as pricy, easier and we got the place to ourselves. In early June, temps are down, prices are about $25 during week and $45 weekends. Huge buffets and banquet people that'll give you the moon for about the same or way less as Vegas.

You'll also get more conservatives and no threat of a strike every 15 minutes from the unions.

And you can go play in the Colorado River or Lake Mojave between sessions. Way cool. A river runs through it.
