• Rick Roberts’ high-placed law enforcement official said that the van Dams were involved in "swinging, lots of wife swapping."
• Rick Roberts’ high-placed law enforcement official said that before Danielle’s disappearance, the van Dam’s neighbor, David Westerfield "found out about the family’s (van Dam’s) swinging lifestyle and approached them to host an adult party at his house."

David Westerfield has been quoted in the press as saying that he was a friend of the van Dams.

The van Dams have denied this, stating that their only contact with him was when Brenda and Danielle came to his home to sell girl scout cookies, and when they exchanged greeting as they passed by.

• Rick Roberts’ high-placed law enforcement official said that on the night of Danielle’s disappearance, "Brenda van Dam was at a local Poway bar where she was grinding away on the dance floor and possibly ‘did’ a guy in the parking lot."

The bar has been identified in the press as "Dad’s Café and Steak House."

David Westerfield openly admitted that he was at the bar that night. He claims that he danced with Brenda van Dam. Brenda denies this.

In fact, the abuse button was pushed on several threads....of which those threads were zapped into never-never land...

I still think at least one of the VDs knew DW better than just in passing. I think it should come out. Maybe Brenda knows it will and that's part of the attitude? Could be wrong though.

I thought that odd too. The boys would have been right outside her open door, where they could hardly help but see an empty bed, but I guess it happened. I don't think the boys were involved in a coverup.

I wondered the same thing yesterday, but was hoping to hear further. When Brenda came home, she shut the door to all 3 kids' rooms. When Damon woke up in the middle of the night, he would've passed by Danielles' room. If her door was closed, then she should've still been in there. He then closed the sliding glass door meaning he locked the door (my assumption he'd lock it). How did the person get in AFTER he shut the door? Unless, he shut the door with them already inside. But, sometime after that, the alleged kidnapper would've opened the door to exit. No one ever mentioned any lights or alarms AFTER Damon closed the sliding glass door.

In the morning, all the people woke up, and walked by her room. Not one person noticed her door was open? And yet they all assumed she was still sleeping?? I would notice, if I walked by an open door when it shouldn't be.
