Actors' Opinions Could Prove Costly At Box Office

A surprisingly large number of moviegoers -- 44 percent -- have indicated that they would refuse to attend a movie starring a politically outspoken star with whom they disagreed. A survey conducted by Encino, CA-based E-Poll also found a strong appetite among the public for movies with a patriotic theme, with 76 percent of those surveyed saying that they would like to see a movie about "heroic passengers of hijacked planes," and 73 percent wanting to see movies about "heroism at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon." Nevertheless, in an apparent anomaly, 36 percent of the respondents said that they would be less inclined to see a terrorist-themed movie today than they were before Sept. 11.

It's not a matter of boycotting, it's a matter of simply not being able to stomach looking at them sometimes.

"Good Guy: Kelsey Grammer"

He's conservative? I never woulda thunk it!

I'd add Trey Parker and Matt Stone (South Park) to a "good guy" list just because they p!ss off the homosexual lobby.

(I'm not anti-gay, I just wish they'd shut up about it. I don't demand a march to celebrate my favorite sexual position.)

Ted Danson

I still like Cheers. It was quite un-PC IMO.

Kelsey Grammer donated north of $100,000 to RNC candidates during the 2000 election cycle. Considered a very bold move given the hatred the entertainment industry has for conservatives.

This is one of the ways to get major TV media and Hollywood to change their anti-US ways, boycott them. I have a personal policy and have made it clear to Disney, AOL Time/Warner and Vivendi that I will not watch their movies or TV shows as long as their bias remains. I canceled a trip to Disney World this year, in large part because of Peter Jennings comments about Bush.

Until the money guys at these mega-media corporations get the message they will continue to spew their drivel. Boycott them, send them cards and letters, tell them and then do it.

Robert De Niro was a Clinton supporter, but I can't help watching his movies anyway because his performances are almost always fascinating. It's easy to boycott Alec Baldwin though.

Hanoi Jane deserves a list all of her own.

Of course, I might have to revise my opinion of her since she dumped Ted Turncoat.

I just loved watching Barbarella knowing how she wished that the earth would open up and swallow all copies.

I am no more inclined to see a movie about terrorism now than I was before Sept 11. I am in the 36% anomaly described in the article above. Why? Sept 11 was not a wake up call, at least not to me. I knew that Arabs are terrorists and I knew that they routinely kill people. They do in Israel. The fact that they didn't (before 9/11) in America should not have been the reason to deny the fact that there is indeed terrorism in existence! I don't need to watch a patriotic movie to feel patriotic. I don't need to see a movie about the passengers on those flights. I don't need to see how they struggled. It is enough for me to read that another SOB blew up a bus in Israel and that a couple on that burning bus embraced for the very last time to understand what kind of human drama is involved. I don't need to go see a bunch of socialistic morons pretending to play (and be) patriots in some movie. I read the news. I see the pictures of those young Israelis killed. A movie is not going to prevent it.

If I chose to boycott movies simply because of the dweeby, liberal political opinions of the on-screen talent, I'd never get to see any movies!

I don't know if there's such a thing as a Hollywood conservative...it's rather oxymoronic...how 'bout making the list of known, unabashed left-wing liberal wing nuts on one side, and everybody else on the other...
