"I agree. The intent is to finish the de-industrialization of the west for the purpose of redistribution of wealth on a global scale." Well then, why on Earth wouldn't you tell people what the real agenda of the global warming crowd is???

It's like debating communism by deciding not to tell people the goal of the communists is to establish a dictatorship and take all their property and instead debate the intricacies of dialectical materialism.

"It's nice to see Republicans finally playing the game. We need the Senate back, that's the bottom line."

Exactly. Politics is the art of the possible. And it is a game. The DemocRATS are low-life street fighters --- they'll say and do anything they have to in order to get, and stay, in power.

It's not Bush's fault that his campaign speeches had to be written to appeal to the 8th grade (14 year-old) attention span and comprehension level. They're *proud* products of the DemocRAT'S government-run education system.

These are the shallow mentalities he must convince to vote for him. Getting elected and then advancing one's conservative agenda truly is "the art of the possible".

I see Rush has the tape posted at his web site now where he cautions his listners not to "go FReeper" on him. I love it!!! Here's the link:

THERE'S A BAD MOOD ON THE RIGHT A seemingly harmless EIB song parody sparks a spirited Dittohead uprising...(details and audio)

Rush writes:

My friends, admit it, all good humor is based in some element of the truth. If we can't laugh at ourselves sometimes, then we can't recognize we're not without faults, and we can't grow.

We created a parody take-off of John Fogarty's Creedence Clearwater Revival tune, "Bad Moon Rising," calling our version, "Bad Mood on the Right." We played the parody during Wednesday's program and had a healthy laugh over it. But of course, not everyone has a sense of humor, and some accused us of not being conservatives, which you can hear in the two links below. One guy even went so far as comparing our making fun of Bush to the way we make fun of Clinton. Folks, that couldn't be more off the mark. There's a huge difference in this parody, than anything we ever did with Clinton.

I don't understand this notion that if you're a conservative, you can't criticize the president. I've always said, and I guess some people have a tough time digesting it, that I'm going to remain loyal and devoted to my ideals, not to people. I respect and admire President Bush tremendously, but that doesn't mean I'm going to alter my beliefs just because he may change his position on something. Quite the contrary, I’m going to say something. As human beings, we are and should constantly think for ourselves. That's the beauty of the freedom of this country. It allows each and every one of us to be individuals. The parody callers below weren't the only ones upset with me - you can hear the rest in From Across The Fruited Plain: Embattled El Rushbo Battles Back.

Sure, we poked a little fun at Bush in this parody, but it was harmless. It was just a good-natured little thing done with love and affection. It's a great moderate parody, if you ask me, so just relax and let yourself laugh! I'm sure even Bush himself would get a kick out of it.

Well then, why on Earth wouldn't you tell people what the real agenda of the global warming crowd is???

I explained why in the rest of my post. Yes you do explain the actual goal of the one-worlders, but you do not do it on their terms, which place you on the defensive i.e. "yes we cause global warming but you just want to make us poor and enrich the third world."

Regards

"I guess I'd like to read that EPA report (keeping in mind that since the Clinton administration, anything within .gov is suspect of being a jobs program for Clinton's liberal allies rather than a department if integrity) and see just what they've come up with and how they came up with it." LOL!

Oh, you'll love this report. It's huge and has something for everyone, as you can infer from the spin wars. Just imagine the expense of holding the Rio conference in the first place, then the expense of maintaining a bureaucracy in every signing nation ever since to produce reports that until two days ago never saw the light of day, and then a UN bureaucracy to read all the reports!

i heard, today, that the census bureau stated that the united states is accepting more IMMIGRANTS at a faster rate than since the 1950's. that is frightening in light of the fact that we are at "WAR."

Yes, while our soldiers are fighting terrorists overseas, America has her doors wide open to millions of immigrants from around the world that we can never hope to track or process. It’s pure insanity.

Because I've heard him chide the site, joke about it, snicker about the 'type' that makes up a Freeper, have his staff create an unkind picture of the 'typical freeper' and put it on his website, and so on and so on. He's smart enough to know it would be unwise to embrace FR.

"...George Bush and Rush are both patriots and for all I know are playing off each other for political gain for the good of the country. Rush does tend to be ham handed at times but the republican party needs to be thumped upside the head on a regular basis or it goes country club. Just my humble and Freudian opinion."

Wow -- a voice of reason. Too bad Rush doesn't hear from FReepers such as yourself more often. I resent the fact that the kooks are doing their best to give people the impression that they are "the face" of Free Republic.

See my post #405 (I think it is) where I link people to the audio tape where Rush says "Going Freeper on me". He has it posted on his web site now.

I wouldn't have made that remark, if I didn't have first hand knowledge of the situation. Grief is a powerful emotion and the bereaved mother and father took solace in the fact that George W. Bush was the Commander in Chief who sent their son to fight and die, " for a noble and just cause". They took great comfort in the personal and heartfelt condolences offered by the CinC. Tell you what-find a grieving military family, show them Rush's little video of President Bush becoming a squinty eyed, monkey faced Algore and report back on how amused the family was.

Relax, as soon as GWB offers "Bombasto the Clown"{Rush} a stay in the Lincoln Bedroom {just like 41 did before the 1992 election}Rush will again be a true GWB mouthpiece.

Rush Limbaugh as quoted in Reply 402:

So with this in mind what's the problem with our criticizing Rush Limbaugh under the same terms.

Is Rush to be held to be immune from the same sort of criticism and approbation which he believes it is his duty to heap upon Dubya?

If so then I say "Doofus, thy name is Limbaugh!".

You know, one of the biggest criticisms I have had of the liberals is that they have no sense of humor. While I do not think this is one of Shanklin's better parodies, I base my opinion on quality and not content. I can laugh at most anything in certain contexts and I think that is healthy. There are a few doubtless well-meaning FReepers around who seem to have their underwear in a wad all the time. There are issues that understandably stir up strong arguments and emotions. In my opinion, this shouldn't be one of them. BTW, thanks for posting the link.

For all our humorless FReeper friends. Don't be mistaken for one of "them." Get the download.

LIGHTEN UP!

I believe they've already had several occasions to get together. A stay at the WH isn't going to make much difference.

And, I'm quite relaxed...thanks!

"The republican party needs to be thumped upside the head on a regular basis or it goes country club." LOL! Yep, I agree. Given Rove's skills, I imagine we'll see some actions to show us Bush hasn't gone country club. I'm sure Rush's rants haven't gone unnoticed.

"George Bush and Rush are both patriots." Again, I agree.

"Rush does tend to be ham handed at times>" Boy, does he ever. Lately, when I hear him on one of his three-day rants about Bush, I've been turning over to Prager or Hannity.

I understand your point. All I was trying to say is that those families probably have their minds on other things and are unlikely to be spending a lot of time looking at Rush's site. I think Bush has been wonderful in situations such as you've mentioned and I have thanked God as well that under such circumstances that we have such a man in the white house.

We are constantly bombarded with images and words on all sides. Some we like, some make us mad, some may offend our personal idea of what is in good taste. We choose what we like and dismiss the rest. That is the nature of freedom. But in my opinion, it is just silly to make a big deal of something like this. Take it for what it's worth, which you seem to think isn't much. I happen to agree with that premise, but it doesn't alter my thinking about Rush OR Bush one way or the other.
