Now I know that i am not part of the "gang" here, so forgive my intrusion here if you think i have not posted a worthy question. I have seen a remarkable amount of posts here that indicate displeasure with Rush. Please could someone outline in detail what it is specificaly that they disagree with Rush on the points. Soccer mom "feelings" please do not reply, as your posts have already taken up too much space. Thanks

Once again, the Global warming u-turn is just one of many.

What u-turn? Oh the u-turn "quoted' by the New York Times. You just like rush should find better sources.

Actually, Rush has entered Kristol, Kagan, McCain territory.....anything at all for some public attention.

The 20 million people who listen to Rush regularly don't qualify as public attention?

Between Bush's concessions and Rush's non-stop hammering, the liberals are left tied in knots. They don't have the faintest idea how to attack this administration (if criticize the right, they side with Bush; if they criticize Bush, they siding with Rush; if they pander to the extreme left and criticize both positions, they secure about 15% of the vote).

It's nice to see Republicans finally playing the game. We need the Senate back, that's the bottom line.

The G.W. Algore was just a little fun with criticism.

I for one, didn't think Rush's remark was funny, not at all. I thought it was demeaning and uncalled for. But it has acheived the intentions that Limbaugh wanted it to. It's made a minority portion of the rightwing electorate, very very pleased. I know you're happy.

All in all, I think Rush has significantly hurt his standing and position with conservative Republicans. President Bush is more popular, more influencial and more powerful, then Rush Limbaugh will ever be with conservative Republicans and I think that upsets El Rushbo considerably.

Well he accomplished a $600 tax rebate for me and my wife and that's more than your guy (whoever that may be) would have delivered.

By the way Jethro, been in any phone booths lately?

I am not able to listen consistently but I do whenever I can, usually in the car. You pretty much summed up the impression that I got about it too. Whoever said we have to agree with everything our "heroes" say anyway. That would make us just like the Rats.

Can you verify that Rush has 20 million listeners? This is repeated everywhere, but never sourced.

I think the fact that Rush is intellectually honest and, despite his claim that Bush will be VERY conservative, has bit his tongue and admitted to Bush's slip in promoting conservatism, has given life to conservatives and hope that perhaps there can still be change in the Republican party back to it's true colors.

"I'm sure he'll have Shanklin's parody song, either at, or linked from, his web site later today when they update it."

Any idea when that is? I just checked and didn't see it.

I think maybe it has something to do with the dolphin story on Rush's web site. It's called "Flipper is a Rapist."

I will stop posting when the Rushbots stop posting how wonderful he is. If you don't like it, too damn bad!

That a girl! Hold his feet to the fire, question his decisions and statements, and expect him to toe the conservative line. Without us conservatives, he wouldn't be in the position he's in. He says he's a conservative, by golly he should act like one!

Of course, this only applies to Rush, not Bush.

"...is this is how he repay's their loyality???"

All I get out of the remark is that he's saying "don't FReep me for this." I don't see it as emotionally charged one way or the other. He knows that when we get riled about something that we can be brutal, or at least overwhelming in the sheer volume of crroespondence. That isn't good or bad. It's just a fact and he knows it and mentiioned it because he knows that a lot of us do listen to him..

Between 9 and Noon tomorrow I'll do a head count.

I don't know what the source is, I imagine it's arbitron. He's the most listened to talk-radio personality in America, as well as the highest paid. I'm guessing the folks who cut his paychecks have some satisfactory evidence that he has a whole bunch of listeners.

For what? Sticking to principle?

Well unexpected alliances are being formed over this issue. We actually have some common ground. I don't want to get too exuberant, here, but at least we agree on this one. Some past friends and acquaintances have written me off as having gone over the edge, wacko, for calling Bush a liar and a socialist, and agreeing with Rush on this one.

When I criticized Clinton for advancing a socialist agenda, I was an okay guy. When I criticize Bush for advancing a socialist agenda, I am an over-the-edge nutcase.

Now, don't go refering to me as a fellow Rush-bot. I have long tended to find fault with Rush for being too easy on the Republicans.
