He's covering his butt by saying "I talked to the White House this morning."
Human activity is NOT the cause is what the WH is saying. Now isn't that JUST what Rush said it was not half an hour ago???

Huh? The bureaucracy? What is this, Good Cop, Bad Cop?"Good cop and bad cop are gone for the day. I'm a different kind of cop." -- Vince Mackey, "The Shield".

Bush has policy already in place that is based on the National Acadamy of Science's Climate Report which was released in June of 2001. I won't speculate, and neither should you, on what changes Bush might make based on the EPA report. There are not many that would say that the EPA is more credible, or as credible, as the NAS when it comes to science.

Primarily, I disagree with the idea that Rush/Sean Hannity/Laura Ingraham/Pretty much every other conservative radio/TV person is somehow in league with the New York Times in trying to destroy the President.
That's just silly. And the report was wrong. Otherwise, he wouldn't have had to distance himself from it. The only question is whether the President disagreed with it all along, or if he has been persuaded of that after this particular trial balloon (if that's what is was) was shot down.
I'm not really strongly on either side in this debate (i.e., I'm not abandoning GWB over one issue), but I do agree with Rush that the President needs to stick to the priniciples which got him elected (and persuaded us to vote and volunteer for him, both of which I did).

Looks like Rush and his media machine pressured the Administration to state that the report THEY created is bunk.

We would do well to remember the first 2 of the 10 laws of politics/politicians.
1. Pay no attention to what they say, watch instead what they do.
2. In Washington, nothing is official until it has first been denied.
Got my doubts about Bush, but not ready to give up on him at this time. "Wouldn't be prudent."

There are PLENTY of people on here who would disagree with you on that one; they'll be along to tell you all about it shortly.

Why not simply not release the report? Right hand maybe not knowing what the left hand is doing....again?

Read my #22. Also, our reaction to this is based on a summary from . . . the New York Times.
To: B Knotts
No, I think that the NYT article was just an attempt to separate Bush from his conservative base. I guess it worked for a little while. Alot of you seemed to fall for it. You should know by now that the NYT is a Democrat mouthpiece and that every article has to be parsed for spin.

I wonder whether he's distancing himself due to the conservative reaction, or whether the report slipped through the cracks on its way out? Either way, The Prez. did the right thing. Job well done, GWB.

Rush seems to be frustrated that Bush is not CaesarExactly, they sound like Bush has the power to "decree edicts".
