Actually, I'm not dumb enough to think there isn't global warming. I just don't know what causes it. You just cannot dismiss out of hand the fact that MAN has to have something to do with it.

But isn't that the complaint about this report? When it's pointed out that it means nothing and has no specific policy recommendations, the rejoinder is that it provides ammo to the enviros. If we shouldn't worry about what the Left will do, then who cares?

I have no sour grapes. I just prefer to get out the vote for another in 2004 if there's no quick turn around. There has to be a better man to fill the position.
People vote for those who will support their values and beliefs. I believe in a much smaller government and lower taxes. I'd like to see unnecessary social programs removed. Special interest groups can start their own charities rather than feed off taxpayers.
What has Bush done to reduce the size of goverment, it's spending and reducing social programs? So far, it's up, up, up.
If you feel I should leave because I'm a conservative at heart, then why refer to this as a conservative website?

Yes, I saw that. I really had no feeling on his conversation (I was cleaning and had the tv on.) It seemed as if he was agreeing with the need to use technology to develop other less polluting energy resources and to lessen the need on foreign oil. He mentioned in his talking points the need to research Hydrogen gas or fuel cells. But I will agree that if we can do something to reduce the smog in LA, Houston, etc., then let's try. I've been to LA and it was horrible. I got a sinus infection and was quarantined to my hotel room for three days.

Not only Freepers....I tuned into Lee Rodgers on KSFO (SF) this morning and came into the middle of one of his self-righteous rants against this "Administration" report on global warming. Of course, he used it as a chance to spew his bile on George W. Bush....Now Rodgers (and others) are looking like fools, which is what they've acted like.

What disturbs me is that some conservatives have gotten into a mode where they are willing to quickly criticize Bush first, before all of the facts come out. Such folks who shoot from the hip have lost credibility with me.

How many of Bush's departmental appointees are still waiting to be confirmed? Could all this have been the work of "moles" in the administration who haven't been ousted yet because Congress is bottle-necking the appointments?

That having been said, I wish Bush would explain all his other betrayals of conservatism like he did this one. To my untrained eye, it would appear Bush made a statement quite a while after the fecal matter hit the air circulator, and not a moment too soon.

I hope I am wrong that his distancing himself from the report may have been only because he was held to account (by Rush, Sean hannity, et al) and because he had no other choice.(i.e., he saw his poll numbers tanking)

By the way, I have been wrongly accused of being a Bush-hater, a Buchanobot, a Libertarian, and a liberal before.

This is from the first section of the entire report:

With this pledge, President Bush reiterated the seriousness of climate change and ordered a Cabinet-level review of U.S. climate change policy. He requested working groups to develop innovative approaches that would: (1) be consistent with the goal of stabilizing greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere; (2) be sufficiently flexible to allow for new findings; (3) support continued economic growth and prosperity; (4) provide market-based incentives; (5) incorporate technological advances; and (6) promote global participation.

So, in answer to your question, I believe Bush ordered this report to be made.

Now annie, this is a conservative website, and many here would prefer to have a real conservative in the Whitehouse. You can't blame them for defending their core political beliefs.
