Well, I for one am happy that Bush has come out and dismissed the human activity part of that report. I don't understand the folks who didn't feel it necessary for Bush to back away from the report. Heck, I even remember reading one poster adamantly supporting Bush who was about to accept global warming as human induced. I consider this a win for the free market conservatives who actually think words matter.

Do you always turn on friends that fast?

Kinda how those who claimed to voted for Dubya are doing their best to flog him now. Hummm.... If people can change their minds about the President, why the heck can people change their minds about Rush?

He never said that; that is what Rush Limbaugh said.

That's just more of the babble coming off this thread from people who DESPERATELY want/need Bush to be wrong -- ABOUT ANYTHING -- to justify their very existence.

And I was just starting to enjoy watching all these neocons discussing the real aspects of global warming.

This is from the Rush Limbaugh website today. Wonder how long it will remain there.

Apparently he took my advice from yesterday that he stop whining and go directly to the source. It makes for much more interesting radio - instead of the endless days of speculating on what the dildos in the media report on.

Have you compared the President remarks from June 2001 to the report?

What do "remarks" have to do with anything if the people that are working for him are doing the opposite of what he says he believes?

BTW, I do disagree with the President from time to time. It just depends on the color tie he's wearing. For example, on days when he wears a yellow tie, everything he says is crap. But days with blue, red, orange, and lavendar ties are great. :-p

ROFL!!

"Wonder why he (Rush) went out on such a limb yesterday..."

Because Rush is so full of himself he's forgotten he has to check facts and do a little research. IMHO Rush is a tad bit too fat and happy and starting to abuse that talent on loan from God ;-)

That guy has a bead on all of the liberals and is letting them hang themselves

It looks to me like it bothers the so called right wing on this site more than it bothers the liberals.

We will take that as an apology....hahaha!!

It's not. The damage done was in two points: there is global warming and humans are to blame for it. So, as far as the report itself goes, whatever else it said is meaningless, because those are the points that will be used in future legislation on the subject.

As for Bush: he has not commented about what he thinks about the report. He hasn't said if he thinks it is true or not. He just gave a Clintonesque throwaway line that said nothing about the report, and everyone here is so desperate to equate that with repudating the report that they act as if he did.

Bush, at least the quote given here, has not said: 'I've read the report, and think it is wrong. While there is evidence to support global warming, it is not conclusive. Also, I am not convinced, despite what the report says, that human activity, especially American activity, is to blame for these global conditions.'

Until he repudates the report, rather disdaining those who made it for him, I will consider him as a man who believes we are causing global warming. Even if he wont do anything about it, it is only a matter of time before Congress or a future administration *does* (or nominally tries) to do something about it, probably through massive regulations and red tape.

You guys can laugh in hysterical relief all you want, but I judge people by their actions, not their words: the Bush administration allowed this report to be released. That is an act that cannot be taken back, and one which will haunt us years later.

"He just said he read the report and rejected it..."

I think this needs repeating because many many on this thread aren't getting it.

Yes, and you claimed to have read it and then accepted it. Go figure.

Would you have him micro manage all the bureaucracy?

I'd have him get all of the bureaucrats to spy on each other, creating suspicion and confusion. I'd also make sure every office is well stocked with sharp objects, loaded weapons, and liquor.

Absolutely no work would get done, the FedGov would shrink rapidly, and we'd live better, happier lives.

If Rush could call the WH today, why didn't he call them yesterday, before he went on air?? If anyone misrepresented the President's belief's on global warming-it was Rush Limbaugh. But,it's so much easier to take as gospel anything the NYT puts out, than doing your homework.

Well, if you consider that it's possible that Rush was the whistleblower for this, then it is also possible that whoever was responsible for the tone of the report also read the President's remarks from June 2001 used that tone for the current report.

Oh of course, wouldn't want to make an example out of anyone...

Yep let's just take the perpetrator out to the square and tar and feather them.

JMO, but Bush doesn't work the way you frothing know it alls want. There will be recriminations, but sorry to burst your bubble, there will be no public spectacle.

But that just gives you something to perpetually complain about.

Don't they wish.

The smart guy was too busy banging Mary Ann.

Er, is that the same Mary Ann who is down by the seashore, pounding sand?
