"...the rest of us -- the ones who don't find fault with everything Bush does."

BTW...I "...don't find fault with everything Bush does." I believe he's an honorable man who tends to listen to politico advisor folks who betray principle in exchange for short-term polling gains. Anything I can do to short-circuit that mindset is an admirable accomplishment, IMO.

Why do you assume that we're not thinking about this fall? I can do two things at once, ya know!

How many pages was the report, Howlin?

And how long did it take you to read it?

Did you really read it?

You know what's funny... I'm home sick today with stomach flu and not one 24/7 news channel has even mentioned this story today...

It used to be that I couldn't wait until Rush was on every day now I don't care at all if I even hear his show at all anymore...

I just bought a whole bunch of new CDs... I guess I'll start taking them in to work more often...

CFR, immigration, increased welfare benefits, extending unemployment by 13 weeks, food stamps to immigrants, abandoning the Bush Doctrine, quitting on ANWR drilling (also caving in on Florida drilling for his brotha Jeb), signing that piece of crap farm bill, and now agreeing with the left that HUMANS are causing global warming.....NONE OF THESE ARE ADVANCING THE CONSERVATIVE AGENDA!

Rush should do us all a favor and change his name to Kimbaugh, so we could just add a K to the KKKK

KKKK = Klayman, Keyes, Kristol, Kagan

>>>Would somebody tell me, besides the war on terrorism (which is getting a bit big for its britches to me), what ten things Bush has done that even resembles conservative thought?

That's too easy!

* secured passage through Congress of a $1.35 trillion tax cut
* gave working American's $100 billion stimulus tax cut
* largest increases in military spending since Reagan (14+% in 2003 budget)
* signed two military two pay raises; increased medical/housing benefits
* threw out the Kyoto protocol
* disposed of the ABM Treaty
* pro-life, anti-abortion President
* publically called for a right to life amendment to US Constitution
* eliminated taxpayer funding of overseas abortions
* has openly and strongly supported Taiwan
* designated N.Korea, Iran and Iraq, the Axis of Evil
* secured initial funding for a NMDS (SDI)
* promoted increases for off shore oil drilling
* strongly advocates drilling in ANWR
* pushed for building more nuclear power plants
* advocates reducing US dependency on oil imports
* repealed/froze many last minute Clinton EO`s
* proposed partial privatization of Social Security
* offered faith-based alternatives to traditional welfare
* stopped gov't funding for further destruction of human embryo's
* nominated conservative judges to the federal bench
* recognized 2ND amendment/RKBA as individual right, fully constitutional
* told Cuba/Castro trade embargo stays
* turned Russia into a strategic partner of the USA
* returned honor, dignity and trust to the Presidency
* has done an outstanding/remarkable job, leading America in the war on terrorism.

And in less then 17 months too.

Now tell me, how has the war on terrorism, gotten too big for its britches, for you that is? Can't wait to hear this explanation.

I agree. If this "story" had been true, I'd be emailing the White House right now; but, much to the sorrow of some on here, it's not.

Just watch these threads. And watch the first posters. Talk about knee jerk.

I would have to say that Bush and all legislators need to read the Constitution. After doing this, they need to get rid of all of the unconsitutional laws they have created over the years.

How's that for starters?

Even when I disagree with Rush I am always impressed with his homework. Not this time. He took the Drudge report and ran with it without any research, and Drudge simply took the NYT article at face value. Shame on Drudge. Rush is another matter, I am very disappointed in him.

increased welfare benefits

Any why would benefits be increased? Because of greater incentives for those moving from welfare checks to work...

Why can't Bush just act more like Ronald Reagan?

Ronald Reagan would not have said, "You are either with us, or with the terrorists!" (which is a HUGE ultimatum), and then, several months later, be kissing the fat A$$ of the Saudi Princes, whom he had over to his house, and who funded and continue to fund al Quaeda, and who organized 9/11.

That's just ONE thing.

Ponder that.

Yep, Karl Rove is at the root of much of our current discontent with the President. No doubt about it.

If it wasn't for Karl Rove Bush wouldn't be in the WH, Al Gore would.

We'll have to agree to disagree on the political fallout from this. I may be overly pessimistic, but after headlines like "Bush Knew!" from the NYPost, and "What did Bush Know, and When Did He Know It?" crap from the usual suspects in Big Media, I think I'm justified in my cynicism. They'll all accentuate the negative because a)that sells papers/ ad space; and b)it fits their ideological world-view and helps sink an percieved "opponent".

Rush's ratings are down. He knows he has to have controversy to hold the numbers.

Cheer leaders only draw an audience is they wear very very short skirts and kick their legs up a lot. Rush looks terrible in short skirts and can't even wiggle his tu tu.

Rush does tell the truth about his profession He says he is an entertainer and he is. The competition is getting a lot tougher. Controversy makes talk radio. Rush is well aware of that.

We will know Rush's ratings are really bad when he has Hillary on to talk about her run for the presidency.

Rush just said the last caller was an example of how W has cornered the Soccer Mom crowd. NOTHING he does can make them turn against him."

Truth or not, Rush just alienated a good portion of his audience. By equating the usual soccer mom 'liberal' to conservatives and Republicans may be harsh, and may even be true in some cases, but this to me shows that Rush has become all show and no substance. Didn't Rush once say never to trash your own? He used to be able to see beyond the surface. Maybe we are seeing the real Rush. Heck, maybe we are seeing the real Dubya. And while I haven't agreed with the President on some issues, I know I've disagreed more with Rush.

I hate to say it people, but with all this in-fighting, we don't need to worry about the liberals in 02 or 04. We need to worry about each other. United we stand, divded we fall- and the Dems are loving every single minute of it. I guess the only good that could possibly come from all this is that with a common enemy, we'll all unite together once again- just like we did on Nov. 7th, 2000 and Sept. 11th, 2001.

One can only dream...
