If a guy like Corn is able to admit this, then those who are sympathetic to those "theories" are really balmy.

His original essay,
THE 9/11 X-FILES: E-Conspiracy Theories Deserved To Be Debunked, is posted
here.

In the timeline he notes that transnational oil companies invested billions of dollars to gain access to the oil reserves of Central America and that they expressed interest in a trans-Afghanistan pipeline between 1991 and 1998. A pipeline from Central America that passes thru Afghanistan?
I must have been asleep that day in Geography class!

Yep! And the clymers that subscribe to this bull clinton take their meds every morning and then start calling C-SPAN to rattle off these accusations.

If I had a working wormhole I think I could find a more profitable use for it.

The sad thing is - more than a few folks on the right buy into this tripe.
I'm not a Bush supporter, but these folks hate Bush and/or Jews so intensely, they'll scour The Web from the most insignificant loony sites to find evidence that Bush or the Mossad caused 9/11.
And oddly, they all became huge fans of Islam on 9/12.

Never before did I think I could be in agreement with Corn.

It's a funny feeling, ain't it?
I shall never be able to bite into a cob with relish again.... (I don't mean I put relish on my corn, I mean - well, you know what I mean).
To: Senator Pardek
I expressed doubt that the Bush Administration would kill or allow the murder of thousands of American citizens to achieve a political or economic aim Hasn't read NSDM-314, I guess.

It's more important to note
why it was Corn of
The Nation who chose to write this fairly balanced (for Corn) piece.
He knows what will happen to the Left if it becomes dominated by the "Bush Knew and So Did His Oil Buddies" crowd. He is sensible enough to know that it's nonsense and that the voting middle will not cotton to lies being spread by the Left about a President they want to see succeed.
He knows that the Left is moving to a rabid attack position just as the Republican Right did against the Toon in 1998.
Only unlike the Lewinsky investigation, there's no there there with the 9-11 Whodunit. It just leads to more madness and a wilderness of mirrors for the Left, leaving Bush in the Center and the Right looking like his old Reasonable Self.
Another thing. Corn knows who his readers are. The Nation is read by Democratic Party activists all over the country, like NR is read by Pubbies. He's trying to tell his friends in the Rat activist community to calm down; there's no conspiracy, and all that Daschle, Hillary, and Co. are doing by implying a conspiracy is helping Bush with the voters.
That's what this is all about.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

No - you post that funny picture of Uncle Sam's visage on that famous girl's body.

Yep! And the clymers that subscribe to this bull clinton take their meds every morning and then start calling C-SPAN to rattle off these accusations. You know, sometime in the nineties it became REALLY obvious that the DNC was operating a call center specifically for C_SPAN.
(Sorry to go off topic.)

There is only one way to resolve this, and that is to ask the President, under penalty of perjury, the following questions:
Is it standard procedure to scramble fighters in the event of a hijacking?
A 'no' answer would be a lie from what I have learned and would be grounds for serious action given the gravity of these issues (public confidence)
If yes, are these procedures mandatory unless an appropriate authority intervenes? (Who has such authority?)
If yes, were such procedures followed in a timely manner the moment it was discovered that 4 airliners were off course and not responding to ATC?
If not, why not. And who gave the orders for the fighters to stand down?
I believe it is neccessary that these questions be asked in an investigation. I believe they are the CORE of the inquiry. I also believe that one is justified in thier distrust of ANY administration that is reluctant or adverse to the propriety and neccessity of this inquiry.
This isnt Waco folks. It is critical that the damage to public trust be remedied.
If this is not done, the course we are on may split the electorate irrevokably and I personally fear the potential ramifications in 2004.
