Pelosi: Bush Got Hijack Warning, Congress Didn't
NewsMax.com ^ | June 2, 2002 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 06/02/2002 12:48:29 PM PDT by Carl/NewsMax

House Intelligence Committee member Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., alleged Sunday that the August 6 terrorist alert received by President Bush contained a key detail that was omitted from a similar briefings given to Congress.

"What we saw in Congress in that same 24-hour period did not have the reporting that referenced hijacking," she told NBC's "Meet the Press." "That was a distinction between what Congress saw and what the White House saw."

Though Pelosi said that she didn't think the Aug. 6 briefing was enough to "warrant action on the part of the president," she went on to hint that Bush overlooked key evidence that might have predicted the 9-11 attacks.

"I think the distinction has to be made that for some reason, on that early day in August, someone in the intelligence community decided to put all of those events on one piece of paper," Pelosi observed.

The California Democrat stressed that while congressional intelligence committees had received much of the same information that was in Bush's pre-Sept. 11 briefing, "We had seen it over a period of time. We did not see it in the aggregate as the president did that day."

While some Democrats have backed away from earlier suggestions that Bush knew enough to prevent the Sept. 11 attacks, Pelosi joins a cadre of liberals who continue to insinuate otherwise.

On Wednesday, Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., said that historians will judge Bush accountable for the 9-11 attacks because they happened on his watch. (See: Dodd: 9-11 Attacks Happened on Bush's Watch)

How Pelosi and Boxer got elected I'll never understand.

Senator Boxer first got elected because too many Republicans stayed home instead of voting. Oh, we punished President Bush for reneging on his "read my lips" promise, didn't we? Pelosi got elected because her district is full of pathetic losers.

Most reasonable people are sick of the constant Bush-bashing and will vote Republican in November as a vote of confidence for President Bush. Watch.

I consider myself to be a reasonable person. I am so fed up with the RNC and that RINO,Bubba Bush, that I will probably stay home and not vote at all. I definitely won't be voting for Giddy Dolt.

When people in congress decide to actually read the bills they enact into law, I'll worry about what kind of intelligence briefings they get. But they claim they don't have time to read the bills before they enact them, so they certainly wouldn't have time to read briefings.

Yeah, that'll show him. Then you could whine about President Hillary for eight years instead of GW Bush.
Either way, you'll whine, cry and name-call whoever is in the White House so what's the difference, really?
No one is good enough, constitutional enough or whatever-enough for some folks. Tiresome when all you can do is complain and make up silly names to label the President with. You're good at that, though, for what it's worth, which is nothing.

Please, stay home, don't vote and leave governance to the adults and the people who care enough to actally do something more than whine and moan all day. Thanks.

Yeah, that'll show him.

It will come closer to getting their attention than just blindly voting for whatever "maximum leader" the "party" nominates.

Then you could whine about President Hillary for eight years instead of GW Bush.

You're the one doing all the whining, not me. I'd rather see Bubbette! as president than Bubba-2. She wouldn't be able to get anything passed. This is why Bubba-2 is so dangerous to our Republic. People will approve of any damn thing he proposes, because "he's a Republican!".

Either way, you'll whine, cry and name-call whoever is in the White House so what's the difference, really?

You are the one doing all the whining and crying now,and will be whining and crying on Innaguration Day,when Bubba-2 and the RNC wonder what happened to them. I'm going to be laughing,BECAUSE part of what you said above IS true. That part is "what's the difference, really?". The answer to that question is,"There is no difference". See your new Bubba? He's the same as your old Bubba.

No one is good enough, constitutional enough or whatever-enough for some folks.

That's right. It's all those damn people out there with standards that is causing all the trouble! Get rid of your core beliefs and become free as you support the Semi-Dim Party (formerly known as the Republican Party)

You're good at that, though, for what it's worth, which is nothing.

At least I'm good for something, which is more than can be said for Bubba Bush and the RNC.

Please, stay home, don't vote

Nope, not gonna happen. I'm going to vote for whatever communist the Dims run against Giddy Dolt, and might even vote for whatever Dim runs against Bubba-2. If we are going to have a statist in the White House,we might as well have a honest one.

and leave governance to the adults and the people who care enough to actally do something more than whine and moan all day.

Again, you are the only one whining. I'm laughing. ESPECIALLY at your description of Bubba Bush supporters as "adults". Nothing could be further from the truth. They see Bubba-2 and the feral gooberment as their "daddy". Thanks.

Must be nice to have the time to bleat all this nonsense on the internet and come up with all these insulting, childish names for the President of the United States. What are you, really? 12, 14? School out already?

Get a job, get a clue and get off my monitor with your foolishness.

"I'm going to vote for whatever communist the Dims run against Giddy Dolt, and might even vote for whatever Dim runs against Bubba-2. If we are going to have a statist in the White House,we might as well have a honest one."

So you want Democrats making the nominations and approving the next two Supreme Court Justices, who will be on the bench for life.

Telling.

Now just how does that move us back towards a Constitutional Republic, again??

It's ever bit as effective as voting for the RINO's,and maybe even more so. RINO's like Bubba-2 lull voters into accepting crap from them they would NEVER accept from a Dim.

70+ years after U.S. v Miller, the Supreme Court is going to be once again reviewing the 2nd Amendment, and you want Democrats nominating and approving the next two Supreme Court Justices who will be making that decision, one that will probably last for the next century or more...

Would you mind comparing the pro-choice voting record of California Democrats against the pro-life voting record of Alabama Republicans?

People who claim that Democrats are better for Conservatives than the Rino's are, couldn't be more wrong...

And would YOU care to compare the voting records of southern Dims against northeastern Republicans,a group in which Bubba-2 really belongs? While we're at it,why don't you tell me how conservative Giddy Dolt is?
