Freeper Prayers needed for dying newborn girl

My fellow Freepers ;

My cousin Darryl, who is 17, and his soon to be wife, Kim, are about to lose their newborn girl, Kaitland Marie. She probably won't see the Sunday sunrise.

Kaitland Marie was born on May 17, and weighed 8pounds 6 ozs. Nothing appeared wrong, but she wouldn't breast feed.

On Tuesday, the 28st, she got sick, and her Dr. sent her to Scottish Rite in Atlanta. She was put in ICU.

Wednesday, her liver shut down. Thursday, her kidneys. The Dr.s then told Darryl and Kim that the baby had no hope of recovery.

Since Thursday, the Hospital staff has revived her 3 times after her heart stopped, against the wishes of everyone involved.

Tonight, the Dr.s have finally said no more cpr, so her time is near to be with the Lord.

Both families involved are involved with churches, and have recieved many prayers and much food.

But, I feel that someone can never use enough prayer. So, I ask for the prayers of all you freepers for the soul of this little girl, and for the families involved.

Although the parents are both young, and they were not married at the time of birth, they waited so that Kim's Father's insurance would pay for the baby. Both kid's are really good kids who really need our prayers.

Lastly, how does everyone feel that the hospital didn't care for the parents wishes not to revive?

Matthew 19

13Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
14Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." 15When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.

I will be praying for the little one and the family, God bless you all. Please know that Jesus loves her and no matter what happens, she will be with the Good Shepherd and no harm will touch her.

Yes, me too. :-) Been very busy with the kids out of school. I have to get up at 4:00am to get myself ready for the barrage that happens after they wake up. ;-)

We lost one of our 8th graders last week due to complications from diabetes, it is a very sad thing and the kids (especially Mark, my 6-year old) are having a very hard time dealing with his death. The 8th graders were the Kindergartner's "Big Buddies" and Ryan was Mark's hero...tomorrow is his funeral, and we are all going. It will be a difficult thing to do all around, but I have explained to the boys that life is not always about happiness and joy, that sometimes there is sadness and tears and it's okay to be sad. It will be a very sad day tomorrow, but I think the boys will understand that this is a way of saying goodbye to someone they cared about...and it's okay to cry.

Any more news on your niece this morning?

I've just seen this request and will take it to the Lord in prayer. Like DJ88, I'm wondering if you have an update?

Prayers for the family, and for this newborn child. May God's mighty will be done, praying that he grants the family comfort and peace in this time of trial.

This sounds like the infant born to an in-law of mine. There were so many problems that they couldn't decide which one was the worst. Finally after months of near death for the infant they decided to go on & repair the holes in the heart. The baby recovered & they decided the holes where what was causing all the other problems.

The last report I got was 2:30 am this morning. Kaitland's blood pressure was starting to crash rapidly, and there is now a "DNR" order.

I fully expect to call and hear she passed, just dreading doing it.

DJ88, sorry to hear about the 8 year old. Prayers for his family.

I agree with your point about kids and death. It isn't good to shield kids from it. Death is a natural part of the human existance, and should be explained to children as such.

Thanks for your kind words and Prayers, Annie...

While I wish this was the case, Kaitland's illness is due to an as of yet unknown virus. By the time she showed any symptoms, the virus had shut down her liver.

By then, it was too late. If she had been 2 months old, she may have had a chance.

My sister in law used to be a nurse in newborn ICU. She suffered everytime a baby died and usually secretly baptised him/her.

My prayers are with this little angel.
