Do you suppose that some of these madmen in the world take inspiration from prophecies such as this, thus fulfilling them? To summarize the contrast: It wasn't written because it would someday be done; it was done because it had once been written.

Not sure if I made any sense there, but it's a point to ponder.

most all of the prophecies blatherings of Nostradamus are vague, indirect, without any clear reference to the time or place of their occurrence and are open to varied interpretations.

DUH!

It's no WONDER the FBI didn't follow up on them!!!

Am I the only one who remembers that "documentary" on Nostradamus done by Orson Welles? Where's Orson now that we need him?

Every new conflict and every tragedy in the world evokes fear
that the terrible happenings in the world that Nostradamus predicted is going to be a reality.

Isaiah 8:19
When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists,
who whisper and mutter,
should not a people inquire of their God?
Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?

NIV Jeremiah 10:21
 21.  The shepherds are senseless and do not inquire of the LORD; so they do not prosper and all their flock is scattered.

NIV Joshua 9:14
 14.  The men of Israel sampled their provisions but did not inquire of the LORD.

NIV Judges 18:5
 5.  Then they said to him, "Please inquire of God to learn whether our journey will be successful."

NIV Judges 20:18
 18.  The Israelites went up to Bethel  and inquired of God. They said, "Who of us shall go first to fight against the Benjamites?"   The LORD replied, "Judah shall go first."

NIV 1 Samuel 23:4
 4.  Once again David inquired of the LORD, and the LORD answered him, "Go down to Keilah, for I am going to give the Philistines into your hand."

NIV 1 Kings 22:7
 7.  But Jehoshaphat asked, "Is there not a prophet of the LORD here whom we can inquire of?"

NIV 1 Chronicles 10:13-14
 13.  Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance,
 14.  and did not inquire of the LORD. So the LORD put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.

In light of all this, what shall we, as a nation, do???

"...Nostradamus wrote in his book "The Centuries" in French almost 500 years ago."

"...many times in the book he has referred to America as the England of the west."

Ummmm....there was no 'America' 500 years ago, at least not one that could have been called the 'England of the West.'

The most amazing prophecy that Nostradamus made was a little-known one called "Quatrain #69":

Between the bushes of the lone star,
A hollow man arose from a park of trailers.
A hideous witch at his side,
The head of a rotund woman on his lap.

one can fully understand his quatrains and the sequence of events only after the events occur

What good is a prophecy that only tells you about stuff that already happened?
