FReeper Sleuths! Gary Condit and the Mystery of the Chandra Levy Pinky Ring! "Police believe this missing tiny pinkie ring could be the key to solving the Chandra Levy murder case. A gift from her mother, Susan in 1998, it was one of the 24-year-old Bureau of Prisons intern's most cherished possessions and her family has said she wore it constantly. The 14-carat gold ring was bought for $416 and has two diamond chips and the initials "CL" inscribed. But it was not among the personal items found during the extensive police search of the wooded hillside in Rock Creek Park where Levy's remains were discovered last week, Washington police spokesman Joseph Gentile said yesterday. " After doing an exhaustive search of my own image archive, I could only find one image where Chandra is shown wearing a ring (below left). This ring happens to be on her ring finger and NOT on her pinky as has been reported in the press. Certainly, it may be a different ring, but it might just be the one described above and pictured below. So what gives FReepers? Can any of you find an image of Condit where he is wearing a ring on ANY of his fingers? There is your mission! (BTW, yes, I spell Pinky with a "y") |
I am a tall gal, 5'9" and wear a size 5 wedding set on my left hand. My finger is actually smaller so my rings are a bit loose, but I can't get anything less than a 5 over my knuckle.
Chandra was wearing that ring on her left-hand ring finger, wedding ring finger. I've seen reports here at FR that is was a size 4 or 4.5. I find it more than possible for her to have worn that small a size of ring on that finger.
I want to know the specific condition of that container -- if it's been there the entire time, it's got to be so faded and deteriorated from the snow/rain to make it almost unrecognizable. A well-formed container with the pink and brown sharp, maybe even a bit of ice cream in the bottom?? No good.
I'm going by the paper containers they give you when you get a scoop or a sundae, not the plastic pints for take home. Even if it's the plastic kind, it had still better look faded and weathered.
When they get the all the details to ANY story correct the first time 'round, I'll quit calling them lamestream ... (well, maybe I'll quit).
I guess they forgot Journalism 101, it's better to be right than first.
During the struggle she might have managed to grab him. If he had a watch or bracelet on his left hand and had his left hand around her neck, in the struggle she might have cut his pinky with a bracelet or watch band that he wore.
Put your left or right hand on your own neck like you would strangle yourself. Notice that your pinky is forward and easiest to grab while your other fingers are close to the neck.
So, possibly the clue in registered picture has nothing to do with Chandra's ring but the ring he wore on his pinky was used to cover a scar ?
Just a wild thought
Good point! (Even tho I think it was the day before she was last seen) It would be very interesting to know if she was wearing the watch and ring and if the clerk that she was chatting with remembers the conversation.
Does anyone know how she normally traveled back and forth to the gym for her workouts? Would she have been likely to take a cab home from the gym on the evening of April 30th?
April 29, 2001: A security tape in a Seven -Eleven Store in Arlington VA recorded Chandra buying juice and chatting with the clerk.
Is Arlington where Mikey D. lives????SINCE THEY QUESTIONED CAB DRIVERS LAST SUMMER AND AOUR NOW GOING THROUGH LOG BOOKS, I ASSUME THEY THINK SHE TOOK A CAB?!?!?!
And talk about even tougher luck....!!!! Here's her secret lover, hair-boy Greasy Gary Condom, who has been banging this softig little JAP for quite a while unbeknownst to her family, his wife, his constituents and the media when all of a sudden all hell breaks loose and he sees his smarmy career and deviant lifestyle swirling down the porcelin pony,...I mean what's a guy to do???????? You lie, you cheat, you control, you bribe, you coverup, and still, out of nowhere, your sordid little life is suddenly all over the boob-tube. Talk about bad timing!!!!!!!!
Alright you mutants, hands up on who believes these two fairy tales. What's that???? No one except for Kimmie???? I didn't think you did.
1. Condit delays contacting authorities for as long as he can. Why?
Why not rush to act immediately if you're innocent?
2. Condit stonewalls the local Keystone Kops and lies to them. Why?
Why not cooperate with the police, be open and forthcoming. After all, you're innocent, right?????
3. Condit continues to lie repeatedly to both the authorities and Connie Blow-Chunks. Why? You have nothing to hide, right?
4. Condit has a history of control over women. However, even in the face of personal testimony, he denies everything? Why? Why not tell the truth and hope it saves your sorry ass???
5. Condit obstructs justice, impedes a missing persons case which is clearly a homicide, and tampers with evidence in a felony. Why? Isn't Arlington a bit far to be dispopsing of watch boxes and God knows what other jewelry??
Sure, she took a cab in broad daylight. Sure, a mugger jumped her in broad daylight. Sure, he dragged her down an embankment and raped her after first using her tights (this is a special note for all you guys who have ever tried to get a pair of pantyhose off a WILLING woman who ((even helping you)) let alone struggling, screaming, scratching, kicking, biting and generally fighting for her life) to bind her.
Sorry. I gave up reading Fairy Tales years ago. But I know this story about a big-shot guy who wanted to end an affair and the girl wouldn't let him and was making his life miserable to the point that he wished there was a way to get rid of her for good,...and there was.
Yes, I remember seeing an interview with the guy from the gym, that she talked to that night. He said when she went out the door he didn't see her direction or her means of travel. I also remember him describing what she was wearing and it sounds like the items of clothing found with her remains. I think I also remember he said she was wearing a fanny pack when she left.
No ring...
