PS.

And for the record, NO new refineries have even been built in the U.S. in at least 15 yrs. due to environmental opposition and over-regulation. If you want an example of how that affects the consumer, just look to CA, which refused to build new power plants. They ended up over-paying for power, had rolling brown-outs and are paying the penalty for their refusal to accept a reasonable environmental policy.

Oil companies are investing offshore where the business climate is more condusive to exploration and production of resources. ANWR is an excellent example of what happens when hyper hysteria takes over free market. We WILL reap what we have sown and it won't be pretty.

Now turn off your computer, and all that air conditioning you're using because oil also powers electricity. The enviro-Nazis have successfully created a visceral hatred of Big Oil and too many are buying into that dangerous concept, including some conservatives.

Look at the difference in cost between a bottle of designer water vs the same amount of commercially marketed oil. Then tell me why anyone in their right mind would want to stay in that field!

Has anyone emailed this to the local Dallas-area Rotary clubs?

It seems that they would want to oppose the Greens there as much as anyone...

What's capitalism got to do with this. They abused our legal system with hundreds of lawyers. They did not clean it up completely and they delayed the heck out of it. They are pigs. Don't confuse capitalism with this nonsense. Please!!! I'm a capitalist from the get go. These folks think they can abuse the system to their benefit. They should have done the right thing in the first place.

They cleaned it up fast and they cleaned it up immediately, Cowtowney. I don't know where you've gotten the impression that they used lawyers to delay or deny cleaning it up, but I know a little from the inside about that tragic mess, and I can tell you there was never corporate denial that the job had to be done FAST.

The lawyers were brought in because corporations have to protect themselves. You can bet the airlines that crashed on 9/11 have hundreds of lawyers fighting in countless courts this very minute - because that's what our society has devolved into.

Buses that have a fender-bender in NYC create more "victims" than the bus could ever hold! People flock to enter the disabled vehicle so they can file a lawsuit and cash in from insurance companies. It's a local joke. I know Exxon had to deal with the same liability from fishermen, campers, and anyone else who may even have passed within 50 miles of Valdez.

Exxon had ONE employee who had a drinking problem and his problem turned into a catastrophe - that they had to clean up. That one jerk changed history. That one jerk is a big reason we pay much more for gasoline at the pump today. Bottom line: How much hell do you want to deal them for that one tragic accident?

Exxon did not cause what happened - not even indirectly. They suffered from the actions of one idiot. They paid out millions of dollars for clean-up companies to scrub rocks, to recover and treat birds and mammals and lay boom to contain oil. I've seen pictures of that area today and you wouldn't know anything ever happened there.

So tell me, if you're a capitalist, would it make you happier if they closed their company down and locked their doors for good? Do you even realize how many people would be out of work? Do you realize how many satellite companies would close? Do you honestly believe the execs of Exxon ever meant for Valdez to happen, or that they could control what one drunken man in one ship did to them? No way.

Here is a map to The University of Texas at Dallas. Their telephone number is 972-883-2111.

I don't see the Morton Meyerson Center listed.

All of the switchboards are closed at this hour of the morning so I will try to get more information later and post back to you.

From downtown Dallas you will have to take I-75 north to Spring Valley Road.

Once I get an address I will give a Map Quest route from downtown Dallas to UTD.

CSE is fantastic! They tried to help us when the COMMIE EPA lowered our speed limit from 70 to 55 here in South Texas. We are supposedly polluting the entire earth. I was driving through Clute yesterday... it is in the group of towns with lowered speed limits -- due to our terrible pollution. They have one burger stand, a police dept., a fire dept., a Post office, a tiny grocery store, a few houses, a couple of schools. They have no factories, no commerce to speak of, no heavy traffic - almost no traffic, no shopping center, no strip mall, no business district. It is a dying, sleepy, rural little town. A hole in the wall. But what the EPA wants, it gets..... There aren't enough cars in Clute to cause even a slight smog. Only about 8k people including dogs and cats.

Good points. Actually Air Conditioning was the first thing I ever heard the environazis complain about. They were blaming it way over twenty years ago for raising the temperature of the earth. Short jog over to the other view they took, global cooling -- then back to global warming. It is all about controlling us, not about the earth or the air. EnviroNAZIS don't care about the earth or health, they only want to control things! They would have us riding horses and living in caves or shacks like the Unabomber if they had their way. But they, of course, being the elite, would still have their SUVs. Just like the anti gun celebrities all have armed body guards.

So the radicals are against "Big Oil," whatever that is? These clowns need to be asked, with signs or otherwise, what fuel was used to get them to Dallas - - Bee Pollen?

OK, I misunderstood the email. Here is a Map Quest Map from 1200 Main (Center of downtown Dallas) to the Meyerson at 2301 Flora Street. Telephone 972-883-2111

That should help the downtown folks out. It is .94 miles from Main Street up to Flora Street.

There is bus, trolley, and train service to The Meyerson. You can call DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) 214-979-1111 for information or visit their downtown terminal on the corner of Elm and Ervay (about the 1400 or 1500 block of Elm Street) for schedules and information.
