May 26, 2002 -- Investigators believe Chandra Levy was lured to her death by someone she knew or slain by a predator who methodically stalked her, police sources said yesterday.

Evidence collected at the spot where her remains were found points away from her being killed in a random attack while she was jogging, the sources said.

Excellent (# 393.) However, we must consider that there hadn't have to be a violent breakup, what with Chandra going away, he could continue leading her on as before. It might just have been some rough hootchie cootchie in the woods that he is said to prefer and that got outta hand. Also, what was the "big news" she was to announce to auntie Linda? I suspect that played some part in the story and might have precipitated the breakup, which would support your theory.

They won't find any fibers or hairs or DNA from Gary because when Chandra met him at the mansion he was, as often was the case, covered with rubber from head to toe, and seeing him that way she knew he was in a very romantic mood.

I thought her mother said last summer that she was not pregnant because they got their periods at the same time and she had just discussed having hers just prior to her disappearance.

OK folks! What do we know about the time factor? Someone got a list? I think one of the most important things is that NO ONE was looking for her for days. This gave the culprit plenty of time to dispose of the body, clean up any loose ends, etc. I want to know what the Condits' night & day schedules were not only on the first but until she was reported missing.

I thought they could look at hair-- but that's DNA.

From what I remember of those wonderful O.J. days is that you can get even less DNA info from hair than blood, bones and tissues. The hair in the "cap" could just narrow down the I.D. of it's owner to ethnicity, gender and possibly past drug use.

As I understand it there's no way to tell from hair or bone marrow whether she was pregnant or not BUT the bones WILL I.D. Chandra's exact D.N.A.

Bones can be radiated to kill the DNA. That is typically done for bone transplants.

The cops will finger anyone except Condit. They have never been that eager to persue the Condit connection.

My understanding is hair can tell any medication, that has entered the body...We are what we eat! Anthropologist use it to determine whether the specimen were carniverous or not.

Thanks for your comments about DNA and pregnancy.

I read an article today in People Magazine about a rape victim who survived and who is now crusading for improvements in DNA testing. The article said DNA can even be taken from the bridge of eye-glasses.

Hopefully Mr. Creepy left his DNA on some of the articles recovered at the scene.

Wasn't there a connection between Chandra's appartment or manager and California? And the California connection had some sort of connection to Condit?
