Even if you're not a U.S. citizen, Uncle Sam wants you.

About 47,500 military personnel are noncitizens, roughly 4 percent of the total, and the Pentagon is recruiting more.

"We recruit everywhere. We like to look like America and recruit anyone who is qualified," said Jim Cassella, a Pentagon spokesman.

Just fill up the ranks with Frenchmen so we can surrender and get it over with.

>Who needs to establish an international military, when we've got our very own...

Doesn't it seem like, ultimately, the end of all this "openness" stuff is a question like, "Why should the United States even be a COUNTRY any more?"

The US could be a big "coalition of people" from all over and the thing "uniting" all of us is that we all want to have a cool job for a big corporation and we all want to watch cool TV shows and we all want to have lots of sex and lots of money.

People from Mexico and Canada and China and Saudi Arabia and Brazil and everywhere else on the planet who can simply put a check mark after the above sentences will be welcomed here, given a cool photo ID with their picture on it, and that will be that.

The New Americans. Everyone from Everywhere. Beliefs and values are incidental, so long as you do what the people from the personnel department tell you to do...

Isn't this New America just about five years away?

If we wish to work in conjunction with other forces, fine. Incorperating non-citizens in our armed services opens us up to all sorts of problems, loyalty not the least among them.

Recently it was revealed that an Al Qaeda sympathizer had been in our own military. Not only is our nation not fixing the problems, it's creating larger problems than could every be imagined a generation ago. Enough sleeper agents and we'd be fighting amongst ourselves on the battlefield unable to combat the enemy.

Imagine what a sleeper agent could do. Military supply dumps, food, water, you name it would be vulnerable to sabotage.

I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, our leaders couldn't undermine this nation any more if they were trying as hard as they could. That leads me to think they ARE trying as hard as they can.

Don't forget from the American Revolution until today, we are a nation of immigrants. When I was in Marine Corps boot camp I taught Mexican-Americans how to read and study to graduate and those same Mexican-American Marines saved this Irish-American on more than one occasion in Viet Nam. Any person who fights for the stars and stripes deserves citizenship. Semper Fi
