Good movie, saw it last night-dont miss the last 30 minutes.
I think George Lucas is lifting his sequel's histories on the last days of the Roman Empire..

You know, of all the stereotypes that are actual in the movie, like the alien with the pseudo-italian new york accent, and the almond eyed aliens that have obviously stereotypical traits, you'd think they could have found an actual point to piss and moan about. Any comparison between Jango and Mexicans never crossed my mind during the movie, even when the other stuff did.
Nuff said about that. Now, go see it for Yoda and the final battle scene. It'll blow you away. I also had fun spotting rip-offs of Starship Troopers, Gladiator, Blade Runner, Jason & the Argonauts, Clash of the Titans, Close Encounters (the greys), etc. Collect them all.

I just hope 'Windtalkers' isn't a lot of hot air!

Latino critics in particular charge his latest Star Wars epic toys with American paranoia about Mexican immigration with its cloned army of swarthy lookalikes who march lockstep by the tens of thousands, and ultimately end up serving as Darth Vaders white suited warriors. What whiners these people are. So, let me get this, according to liberal nutcases, all "villians" must be white and male.
I will give them this, though: I've always thought all liberals were "lookalikes who march lockstep by the tens of thousands."

the last days of the Roman Empire.. Issac Asimov stole Gibbon's history, also, as the basis for his Foundation trilogy, generally judged among the greatest sci-fi ever written.
Shakespeare also took plots from other works, but man, oh, man, could he write.
don't forget to check codebreaker's Detriot News link --there is a lot more of the aritcle.

Call me a liberal whacko if you will, but a friend of mine "of color" said that Jar-Jar Binks is a space-n****r.
He was very angry about it.
He won't be seeing any more Star Wars movies.

Jango definitely looks Maori, and sounds like he speaks Maori to Boba. This is utterly silly.

... or perhaps, OURS. As in our empire?
The emporor using wars, both of which he started, to gain inconceivable powers unto himself... with deals and corruption going on all under the place... sounds a LOT like the last eight years to me.
Even now, Clinton is probably aching to be the new head of the UN...

AhA!!!
Liberals are howling????
Now, in addition to weapons, politicians, and sovereign States, we have a *movie* in need of a "Howlfulness" rating!!!
(Please refer here , here, and here for background information on the "Howlfulness rating").
I therefore arbitrarily and capriciously (and not having seen the movie) assign "Attack of the Clones" a Howlfulness of 1 Reagan, as a "placeholder" value to be adjusted in the future as determined by the magnitude of Liberal indignation.

It would appear that the Star Wars universe has become a social Rorschach test and tells us much more about the person complaining than it does the movie itself.

This griping goes all the way back to Star Wars, when after it became a mega hit, black activists complained that although there were aliens all over the film, there were no blacks. George Lucas conceded the point, and gave Lano Calrissian to Billy Dee Williams. Now that he is careful to include non whites, he gets attacked for including people, instead of leaving them out. Which just proves there is no pleasing the professionally offended.

Some people have a lot of time on their hands.
ISTR a similar dust-up over the previous "Star Wars" installment, something about the movie being "anti-Semitic" because one of the space monsters supposedly had a "Yiddish accent." I listed to the alleged offensive sound clip and it sounded more Sicilian to me.

How ironically delicious! It couldn't happen to a bigger Left-Coast, PC liberal. True or not about his intentions, perception is reality and Lucas being castigated by the liberal PC crowd has made my year!

Kamino--soundalike for the Spanish word 'camino' which means 'road' or 'I walk.' So it sounds like a Spanish word. Is that offensive?
If it sounded like an English word, would it be considered offensive? French? Chinese? Russian? Turkish? Burmese? Bantu?
Is it possible to invent a name that doesn't sound like a word in some language? If yes, how much does it cost to verify?

Morrison does not look Mexican to me. I thought he was from Hawiia.
