[history]
A 5-year-old Rancho Cordova girl will return to kindergarten at the Capital Christian School after being expelled last week because administrators discovered her mother works as a nude dancer.
Christina Silvas, 24, agreed to stop working at Gold Club Centerfolds off Highway 50 for at least the next three weeks so her daughter can graduate from kindergarten and attend the end-of-the-year pool party she had been looking forward to.

Personally, I don't dance, but any church that bans drinking and smoking sure as hell ain't getting my dollar in their collection plate on Sunday. I'm still wondering WHY she would spend $400 a month to a school she obviously doesn't agree with .. Did she really think no one would figure out what she did for a living??
Mothers gossip all the time .. it would be just a matter of time before the school found out

I firmly believe that this child attending a Christian pre-school is far more important than what her Mother happens to be involved in. Liberals believe what happens at school is more important than what happens at home, too.

Amazing how many people are awake at 0055hrs on a Sunday morning Prayerful concern for this woman's soul-- is it wrong to do good on the Sabbath?

Didn't he already??!! LOL! that's right, I forgot. He's just fund-raising.

There may be SOME truth to what you are saying; at the same time, it sounds suspiciously reminicient of something Betty Freidan or Gloria Steinem talked about once.

Mothers gossip all the time .. it would be just a matter of time before the school found out Here we go... mothers gossip. Is that *your* gossip for the evening? A whole lotta folks seem around her tonight seem to think that gossip only happens to other folks. No, not you. You're not gossiping...

Silvas said she had hidden her job from school officials until this week, when a parent learned that she was part of a radio station's "calendar girl" promotion and called the church. Now you've done it. What are all of these "good" folks gonna have to gossip about if you keep interrupting with facts? *g*

I honestly don't know what she was thinking, but it would appear that she only disagreed with the outcome. She said she "wasn't proud of her job", but felt it was the only way to pay for her daughter's school. What I can't understand, is why she didn't seek a scholarship, or insist on one, because of where she was heading in her personal life.

Ouch! Did you have to bring up Freidan and Steinem in a discussion of female strippers? It conjures up all sorts of disgusting images!
Seriously, you don't have to be a feminist to see how selling one's body for display to strangers is damaging. It also stands to reason that a business that is based on this behavior would not be a safe or wholesome place to work or raise a child around. To all things there are consequences...

signing off-- tomorrow is another day :-)

Oh take a pill and chill
For starters I don't think stripping is a great idea .. but I am also not a single mother raising a child by myself and I don't know anything about this women so I am not going to judge her about her job
But the reality is ... this is a private school .. no one is forcing this women to send her daughter there and I am sure there are other good private schools in the area
She knew the rules before going in .. she took her chances
And as for moms and gossip .. of course they do .. I would have to be totally deaf dumb and blind to say they don't

"because of where she was heading in her personal life."......
Speaking of personal lives, I saw this girl on O'Reilly and I'm thinking of heading West. She's very pretty and has a good head. I'm rooting for her and her daughter's happiness.

Well I can understand a parent wanting the best school for your child but stripping to pay for .. I wouldn't do it .. but I am not her
But the fact is .. she knew the rules before signing her daughter up .. she took a chance and she got caught
With that said I think it is right the school allow the girl to finish the year because it is not right to let the child pay the price

I don't know if any women that I am familiar with from the bar scene are currently stripping (some will just say that they are "waitressing" or even "hostessing" (collecting the cover charge) but my understanding, is that in a city like Houston it isn't difficult to pull in $1,000-2,000 a week "dancing".

SCRIPTURE says that GOD will no longer allow the children to be punished for the sins of the parents...while carrying on the age old orgy of "camel swallowing", (kicking the daughter OUT of an allegedly GODLY and MORAL environment, avoiding that damned 'suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them NOT' clause, spoken by the MASTER of heaven and earth). Why don't some of you people quit pretending that a 5-year-old having to attend public school for a less than a month is some sort of psyche-destroying, life-scarring, tragic event?

Table dances start at $20 all the way up to including "private" rooms for dances. Regulars may tip extra just to have a crowd surround them.
Anna Nicole Smith made a lot of money off of Marshall before they ever left the club.
