SAN FRANCISCO, (PNS) India has started limited war with Pakistan evident by the serious and dangerous developments. Starting with fiery speeches in the Indian parliament and media calling for an all out war with Pakistan. Few hours ago, Pakistan's High Commissioner in India was declared persona-non-grata without citing any reasons. In the backdrop of million man Indian Army in a state of readiness already deployed by India along all of Pakistan's border since Dec 2001.

Don't discount the Persians. They're a proud people, they may be willing to buy from the Chinese but they're not about to cede ground to them. And of course, there's Central Asia where they will get a $hitload of resistance from the Bear itself.

India also expelled Pakistan's ambassador. I'm starting to think it is only a matter of time before they stop playing nice and go to town on one another...which would probably eventually lead to a nuclear exchange. Thankfully, their nukes aren't nearly as powerful as ours are, but it'll produce a lot of fallout nonetheless.

Yeah, except for all of the fallout which would first (and mostly) fall on China. Of course, considering how much the Chinese government cares about their people, that probably wouldn't trouble them *too* much. In fact, it might help a little with their overpopulation problem.

If India is going to war with Pakistan, then the safest way to do it is to telegraph each move to Pakistan and the rest of the world. This gives up the advantage of strategic surprise, but that may not be so important with modern weapons. It has the advantage that Pakistan cannot say at any point that they are suddenly in danger of collapsing due to India's underhanded methods, and therefore must immediately escalate to a nuclear exchange. This removes any way for Pakistan to legitimize a nuclear attack.

By turning the heat up gently on the Pakistani pail, the Indians can keep the Pakistani nuclear frog from jumping out.

They do. But they are not clean bombs. 200 dirty bombs would spread a lot of radioactive fallout. Everybody will get some.

May I ask when you people were born?

And may I ask how much you know about nuclear physics?

Did you know that radiation from Chernobyl reached the US? Sure, it wasn't much, but there was some.

OTOH, I'm not the one who brought up Alaska: I think Alaska probably wouldn't get too much radiation. The rad count wouldn't be much more than a particularly fierce solar storm, IMO. But, unless and until there is a nuclear exchange, it is impossible to say for sure what the results would be: there has never been more than one nuke set off at a time.

It appears possible that India and Pakistan will oblige us in providing a test bed for this experiment.

It kind of brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it? I can hear the wailings from the neo-cons as we speak: they will have to find some other way to hold down wages in the high tech sector. They shouldn't worry: they're bright people, I'm sure they'll find more sources of cheap labor to bring into the country.
