The appearance of the word religion was explained in a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to a small Baptist church in the terms that our governemt would never have the right to outlaw Christianity. As he put it, there needed to be a wall of separation between church and state. This did not mean that religion, in this case Christianity, could not affect the decisions of our government, but that government could never take away one's right to worship.
Your "knowledge" of history, coupled with your lashing out at me in an unprovoked manner has proven that I cannot hold an enlightened discussion with you. You do not stick to the topic, you try to discredit my research into the subject, and you have not said one thing of any significant importance in relation to this topic.
As a conservative, I conduct myself with dignity, and would not so much as dare lash out at an "opponent" in the manor of which you have.
Good night. I will not be posting to you until your attitude changes, and we can have a discussion related to the topic.
