A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 5/17/02

President Bush went on the defensive against Democratic claims he knew about the September 11th bombings and did nothing to prevent them. In a ceremony to honor the Air Force football team, Bush hinted of partisan politics and second guessing, saying, "You know, what's interesting about Washington, it's a town -- unfortunately, it's the kind of place where second-guessing has become second-nature." As the rhetoric has died down as news that leading Congressional Democrats also knew of the pre 9-11 briefings, focus has now shifted to the Clinton Administration and the several security briefings they received in the days following the missle attack on Osama's headquarters.
Later in the day, the President encouraged strengthening Medicare and choice coverage options. Bush also met with Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Will someone please tailor the President's suits? It looks like he's swimming in them. I think he has lost some weight, don't you?

And this is also the day that the depths to which hillary clinton will go exposed her to the world. Tomorrow I call her office, and then Lugars and Bayh's. I am....motivated to put it mildly. God Bless our President. And Rintense's photos of Laura touched my heart today. (I don't suppose we will be seeing them in any major print outlets...what a shame.)

Fleisher said he was entitled to his opinions and she said so was sheShe doesn't realize that she is a reporter who is supposed to be there getting facts, not an opinion writer. I'd love to see a Rush TV-like side by side of this press conference and the softball press conferences with ex42's press secretaries. One tough question with follow-up in 8 years and for it, Brit Hume got fired.
Thank you, Rintense, for these pictures.

I guess Laura is a summer, then? That's what I am, and I look best in pastels. She is very lovely, very steady, and very loving. I find it tremendously comforting knowing that our President has a real wife who is full of real love for him.
kitkat, I love your screen name! And I am glad to hear that folks in S.D. are supporting the President.
rintense, you are a gem. Thank you for doing this every night, for giving us a safe place to regroup at the end of the day. Bless you.
G'night all.

This picture is a hoot. Barney looks like a caricature of himself, and as if he is growing out of W's chest.

What did Ari say about her hillaryness?

The more behind they are. The more desperate they are. The more they do really stupid thing. The more stupid things they do, The more behind they get. The more desperate.....ETC.etc. It's not called a downward spiral for nothing! The D party is now the D-is-fun-i-on-al Party. A buntch of jacka$$es for sure.

Thanks rintense. Your pictures are great, as usual.
Glen Beck was SMOKIN' today!!!!! I have begun to like him much better than Rush. He actually has some common sense.

I knew that you couldn't resist the pictures! Seriously, how could anyone in their right mind believe that "The Boss" would not do everything in his power to protect our country? Does anyone remember the look of pure rage on his face during that dreadful time? It was almost as if he wanted to take them out himself.

I find it tremendously comforting knowing that our President has a real wife who is full of real love for him.Did you see the Congressional Medal ceremony for the Reagans?
It was stated that Ronald Reagan was able to be the great President he was because of the steadfast love and support of Nancy. I couldn't help but think, as President Bush talked about the Reagan's marriage, that he knew exactly what he was talking about because of the depth and love of his own marriage to Laura.
Then I thought about x42 and hillary (though, not for long, since I had just eaten lunch), and it's not hard to understand at least part of the reason why he was such a stinky president!

Laura looks BEAUTIFUL in anything she wears because of her CHARACTER, and not because of her pyhsical beauty, THOUGH she has the most beautiful shade of blue eyes, it's her CLASSINESS, CHARM and most of all her CHARACTER.

Glen Beck was SMOKIN' today!!!!!He sure was! And I agree, I've begun to like him better than Rush. He's a bit too zany at times, but he seems much more objective, and less self-serving than Rush is.

I think Glenn Beck is funny too. He was hilarious during the ice skating fiasco at the Olympics.
I guess the silver lining in this is the GOP appears to be re-united behind W now. Looks like some folks forgot who the real enemy is and have now remembered. Hope the base stays fired up to give W a GOP Senate in Nov.
Someone suggested contributing to Thune. That's a good idea. I shall do so pronto!
FWI...thanks so much for the proverbs. They are perfect and no, I won't be going to the dinner but I will certainly be buying those pics! I'm one of those that left a message last night! Hope those sales go through the blasted roof!
