A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 5/15 and 5/16/02

This is a special double-edition daily dose due to FR being down yesterday...
President Bush and his administration were in the defensive today as Democrats and the media swarmed around revelations that the President was given a general warning about possible hijackings before September 11th. It was revealed later in the day that the very same Democrats leading the negative charge, Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt, also knew of the briefings yet failed to let the media know. By the end of the day, it was the Republicans in Congress leading the charge and taking the Democrats to task for their usual games of partisan slander.
This afternoon, in a move to give the public more knowledge on the exact nature of the briefings, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice confronted the media with detailed national security intelligence in the months leading up to September 11th. It was made clear that the intelligence briefings given to the President were not specific or detailed enough to prevent the suicide bomber attacks.
In much lighter news, the President began the day at the First Annual National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast. Later he presented the Congressional Gold Medal to President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy.

...and, did you see all the three syllable words "the pie" used?
"They've" been reading the dictionary again!Too bad they haven't been reading the Dose, and catching a glimpse of what a REAL President looks like!

People are finally acknowledging the success that Reagan had, but she can't even talk to him about it. Oh my heavens, I hadn't even considered that! It brings tears to my eyes to think of it, though, because she is CLEARLY his biggest fan!

. I applaud the White House's response. Condi, Lott and Cheney were masterful in their responses. Pitiful the Dems have to sink to such levels. I wasn't aware Cheney had responded. What did he say?

I thought about doing a seperate thread with the phone number, fax number and address. Do you think I should?

Thank you so much, rintense. I choose to leave FR after seeing your thread...it's cleansing. Did you notice how Nancy leaned close to President Bush during the ceremony? He knows how to treat a lady. Also, Rev. Ogilvie had the most loving expression on his face while listening to our President speak. His opening and closing prayers were touching and so respectful...calling both Reagans living heroes. We need a picture of the good Reverend. (^:

Thanks for the great specific information about the President's dinner and how to get the photos. And maybe some of us should share email addresses so we can contact each other if FR goes down.
Anyone have any news on how that appeal about the Los Angeles Times million dollar judgment against FR is going?

Does anyone know how all this information re 9/11 come about? Did the WH reveal it first and then the media went crazy or did the RAts tell first or what? Anyone out there let me know.

/I am optimistic. Look at Bush's sustained high approval ratings. The DNC has tried many tactics to bring Bush's numbers down, most will see today's nastiness as desperation. This will be all forgotten in a few days.

Why yes! And it MUST be you. Pound sand, you jackass. You picked the wrong day and the wrong thread to try a subtle slam. Ah yes, thank you for that well reasoned response.

The White House announced it first, after they were reviewing documents that were to be sent to Congress for their witch hunt

isn't Nancy the lucky one? To whom much is given, much is required.
Nancy has carried her burdens with exquisite grace.
