From
this link:
" Many state and local governments are ill-equipped and ill-trained to respond to todays terrorism threats with common tactics, command and control, communications and equipment, Baughman said. For instance, New York City firefighters cannot connect their hoses to fire hydrants in Yonkers, N.Y., because the threads are different."

If anyone sees this on a national website please post the link. I don't want the nation to panic (even if I am a little), but this warrants national coverage.

If this was terrorism CNN, Fox and MSNBC would be all over it. I have not seen anything at all.

this story from AP says it could be food poisoning? Or cyanide?
AP article
here's a tidbit
The two critical patients were unconscious and on life support, Mayor John Spencer said.
The other residents of the 18-apartment building were taken to a nearby parish hall.
There were "some other people" in the apartment with the victims who did not get sick, and health officials were leaning toward a cause that was food related and was not airborne, Spencer said.
"Some did not eat," he said, "and they're all right."
The FBI and state terrorism officials were helping local police with the investigation "due to the sensitivity of it and the times we live in," the mayor said.
The contaminant was "some sort of poison ... possibly cyanide," he said.

Dang, I'm not sure I'll always be able to remember where I was on 5/16 - it just doesn't have the right sound to it. Oh well I think I will just eat some almonds and go to bed.

Dozens are still being held including the camera crew from News 12. FBI was called and and the Hazmat team was called in. It appears cyanide deliberately placed in a food. They are trying to find out if it was some kind of terrorist activity because the people traveled to Egypt recently.

This situation reminds me of the first anthrax cases - all national news outlets were in "see no evil" mode, and the only information was coming from the local TV stations (and the AP wire, which none of the networks reported).

The killing jars in my lab were filled with chloroform poured into a bed of cotton balls. I used the jars to dispatch some huge Sprague-Dawley research rats before extracting the liver tissue. They were pretty aggressive.
The company with the sign on the wall used cylinders of HCN in a lab with an active vent hood. It would take a substantial release from the cylinders to overcome the vent hood.

I think the Moderators are on coffee break.
Unconfirmed reports that some telephone numbers in the Yonkers Apartment complex answer to a group of Egypt Nationals..

Well CNN is showing Larry King which they never interrupt and then MSNBC has ASSleigh Barf-Field. These stations never interrupt these two for any news. Fox has Britt Hume which was previously recorded and so they are useless for breaking news at this time. You might be better off with your local news atation.

stand corrected
