I agree, so a little building under construction partly fell down. Big deal. Hell the Russia Space Dome partly fell down the other day and I don't remeber any posts on that! Now that was a big deal, That building is HUGE.

That is what you get for trying to save the toll on the Triboro Bridge.

Try being stuck in the Lincoln Tunnel every morning.
How long does it take to get through the tunnel on a good day? Twenty Hail Marys and Six Our Fathers.

Congrats on the first post. What you really need is a more impressive handle than "nini". Something like "The_Evil_Satanic_NINI", or "NINI_The_Really_CRUEL. That ought to do it. :^)

Try being stuck in the Lincoln Tunnel every morning. DON'T REMIND ME. One of the reasons I HATE going to Jersey.
If I had to move to Jersey and commute, I'd take the PATH or NJT. Although the PATH goes through a tunnel, it at least moves fast, whereas being stuck in the Lincoln or Holland Tunnel causes instant claustophobia.

Congrats on your first post. And ignore the "rude dudes." They just love to belittle anyone who is happy.
And yes, there WAS a post about the Russian building that fell down. I remember reading it a few days ago.
Just ignore them.
Learn how to spell "Ppfffffffffttttt!" That's the only answer they're worthy of.

4 Workers Hurt In Manhattan Building Collapse 16:02 ET
Dow Jones International News
(Copyright (c) 2002, Dow Jones & Company, Inc.)
NEW YORK (AP)--Four workers were injured Thursday after a collapse at a construction site in the East Side of Manhattan.
Fire officials say work was being done at a four-story brick building at 29 East 61st Street, when two floors within the building collapsed burying the four men.
Firefighters and emergency personnel immediately responded to the scene after the 3:11 p.m. EDT (1911 GMT) collapse, and quickly pulled the men out.
Fire officials say three of the men were taken to New York Hospital-Cornell, and the other was treated at the scene. Officials say the injuries don't appear to be life-threatening.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the collapse.

Five years from now I expect to be eating gruel from a helmet. Or penne pasta from fine Italian tableware. Guess I'll have to wait to find out.

What a strange world in which we are relieved that men are only trapped or killed accidentially.

This is, unforunatly, common on construction projects. All you need is one errant carpenter for the thing to fall apart. Or a fumble by a crane operator.

"I'm so excited ... this was my very first post!" Once you take that plunge, there's no turning back. Say good bye to your family (pictures on the desk help), stock up on coffee and munchies, get a comfy computer chair. Have telephone and tv moved next to you, memorize the phone number of the pizza joint that delivers...... You're a goner. LOL!

Fire officials say work was being done at a four-story brick building at 29 East 61st Street, when two floors within the building collapsed burying the four men. There are a lot of beautiful small buildings in Manhattan, but they are all old. Real estate in Manhattan is so scarce-- Manhattan is an island, after all-- that, as soon as high-rise construction became technically feasible, that's all anyone built. So all those 4- and 5-story buildings in Manhattan were built prior to 1917, many of them long prior. So collapses are, unfortunately, always a risk.
