[history]
Even though the homeowners association that has battled Jupiter resident George Andres for 18 months over his flag and flagpole has filed foreclosure proceedings against the former Marine, Andres' attorney said a new state law should help protect him.
Andres' attorney, Barry Silver, called the Indian Creek Phase III-B association unreasonable and mean-spirited" for its effort to collect more than $30,000 in fines.
He said he does not think Andres and his wife, Ann, are in any immediate danger of losing their modest home at 125 Doe Trail.

At a Veteran's Day ceremony at Andres' home, none of the neighbor's complained about the flag. Several told me they like the light on it at night. They also said the rules are selectively enforced by the association.

More left-wing tyrants. I have never found conservatives to be power drunk, but all my life I have run into tyrannical, closed-minded, power-drunk leftists. What's wrong with these people?

"..of fines and penalties assessed by Palm Beach County Circuit Court Judge Catherine Brunson.."That tells me all I needed to know....we should FReep Jeb on this issue and get this resolved once and for all.

Any chance of moving this to breaking news to get everyone's attention?

My advice is to go and get a house out in the country instead of a fascist-commune and fight any attempts at incorporation or association that come along.

Since you are in contact with the family... is there anything we can do to assist?
We really need to develop a strategy and then unleash a Freep on this association/judge/etc to help this guy and his family.

I'll email George Andres and his lawyer, Barry Silver, a link to this thread. There is another vet, a little north of Jupiter, who has been told to take down his flag also. I'll notify him too. I know when Andres last appeared in court, his lawyer was trying to get all the vets he could to be in the court room.

To: LarryLied
Ok keep us informed!
To: Bloody Sam Roberts
Is it really the MOST intimate?

I reckon this applies...
IT WAS THE SOLDIER not the reporter, who gave us freedom of the press.
IT WAS THE SOLDIER not the poet, who gave us freedom of speech.
IT WAS THE SOLDIER not the campus organizer, who gave us freedom to demonstrate.
IT WAS THE SOLDIER who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag and whose coffin is drapped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag. Freedom Is not Free Thank You to America's Military |
To those who protest viewing the flag:
a.) Don't look at it, it's just as much a right to fly it as it is for you to view it
b.) Go back from whence you came

I am on a homeowner committee which makes these kind of decisions - in fact we just denied a request by someone to put up a flagpole.....IF the HOMEOWNERS wanted to have FLAGPOLES all they would have to do is present a change to the Association Rules to the Board and get enough people to vote for it.....obviously, not enough people in this community have voted for this rule change. By the way, we have flags all over our community - on flag poles attached to homes.....and I was a reluctant vote for not allowing the flag pole....but, as I said....homeowners DETERMINE THE RULES!
