Are those the only alternatives? Give me a break. How about just getting a regular job? Funny, but so many single moms seem to make a living (not necessarily a well paid living) without doing any of the above. Stripping is no way to make a living, if you want to be a decent person. Better to be struggling financially, but retain some dignity as a person and a parent. Why are so many people willing to accept a woman who is a stripper? This is degenerate behavior, and cannot be condoned.

"The school offered to waive the last month's tuition for the student so the young girl could remain in school to the end of the year if the mother would quit her job as a strip-tease dancer. They also offered to support the mother and walk 'hand in hand' with her as she worked through the spiritual issues involved and sought to better her life," said Hagelin

So where did you miss the offer to support and walk hand in hand with her?

To borrow a phrase so beloved of fundamentalists, WWJD?

In a similar situation, he said "Neither do I condemn you." That was mercy.

Then he followed it up immediately with "Now go, and sin no more." That was correction.

We shouldn't expect one without the other.

Only in degree, not in kind. Why is it that when I used to go home from work a certain way that the local skin bar would be advertising whatever porn-star was dancing there that night?

Oh, you just drove by huh? Yeah, right...

BTW, how slowly were you driving to read those advertisments, and how did you know the Ladies mentioned in them were Porn Stars? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Do you cruise, ah, I mean, drive by this Strip Bar often?

School vouchers are all about choice of schools, not about accepting whatever status quo you and all other parents/students are forced into. The post you replied to clearly stated that this person had a CHOICE. There are no valid arguments against vouchers when it comes to issues like this.

Mommy this mommy that. It's amazing that this thread has seemed to ignore the one person who really seems to count here, the little girl. Even if the mother was the absolute spawn of Satan, I can't comprehend why the school wouldn't try to save the little girl, and to hell with the mother.

From where I sit, the school is abdicating it's Christian responsibility to try to save this little girl's soul, because it has a problem with the mother's behavior.

Well since the letters "P-O-R-N S-T-A-R" were next to the girl's name, I just assumed....

Do you cruise, ah, I mean, drive by this Strip Bar often?

Not since I changed jobs, thank goodness.

BTW, nice dodge of the stripper vs porn star discussion

Hmmmmmmmm. Interesting statement, but entirely too broad. Where do you draw the line on Nakedness? Can Painters paint portaits of Nude Women? Is that Degenerate behavior? I mean, the Models get paid for posing, don't they? People buy the paintings, people look at the paintings. Should that also not be condoned?

So that brings the question, is it Female Nakeness you have a problem with, or is it the fact that a young woman has something that men are more than willing to pay to see?

No church has ever saved a single person's soul.

A parent's actions are bound to affect their child's life. That's one of those distasteful realities.

Considering Mankind's fallen nature, it would probably be best if male/female nakedness were confined to the marriage relationship.

It's that pesky little fact concerning a woman who is paid to titillate strange men in public by displaying her nude body, and the fact that this doesn't disturb you is somewhat disquieting. You find no difference between this and a model posing nude for a painting, and I must admit that I'm not entirely sure how I stand on that issue, but I do see a difference.

it is a PRIVATE school, if the woman does not share the values there she is free to send her child elsewhere. how is that UNFAIR? you don't like the rules here, go somewhere else, seems fair to me.

You got that right the school has a right to do this but it was stupid and given( I will admit I'm speaking as a non christian here) all the prostitutes Jesus associated with I do not think he would expel the child.

Its not its stupid and hypocritical but its still a private school and they have the right perhaps its for the best a with a school run by people like this I'd take my chances with the guvment schools.

How can it be anything but fair? She knew the rules, and she broke them. Unfortunately, her child had to pay a price, but considering the mother's subsequent behavior, I doubt that she much cares about her child's feelings. Not only has she now gotten her expelled, but has publicly exposed this poor kid's situation to the world. A very selfish woman, IMHO.
