Two men in custody, believed to be Israelis (?!) after bomb sniffing dogs detected a Ryder truck with bomb residue in it. Additional tests with other higher tech sniffing devices confirmed the results.

You have accused me of altering a published article, which is a pretty serious charge, and you have given no proof. Since Terilyn posted the article before that info was added, you are also accusing HER of altering a published article. You've also called me a liar. Pretty stupid, even for a newbie.
I am pinging everyone on this thread who posted before I did last night; perhaps you'll call all of them liars too. You're just that rude and arrogant.
You were all here at the beginning of this thread and posted comments before I did, so I assume that at least some of you read the article at the FOX site--indeed you would have had to, since at first there was only a link to the story. How many of you saw the article WITHOUT the sentence about the dogs finding something interesting on the driver and his companion?

There's NO WAY I would edit an article and post it here. Heck, after Jim Rob's warning about editing titles I certainly wouldn't edit an entire article!
As soon as I saw the original post, I took the link to FN, copied the story on word pad, formatted it, then returned to the thread to make sure it hadn't already been posted by someone else before I added it to the thread.
As it turned out, terilyn had already done so. I compared my copy to hers to make sure it hadn't been updated on mine and didn't find any differences.
Now I'm going to go back and read the rest of the thread to see what this is all about. My IPO connection went bad last night (from the storms I guess), so I haven't read most of this.
As for accusing people of being juvenile, NEWBIE, let's see what a grown up you are by owning up to your mistakes and apologizing for falsely accusing people.

I don't know anything about the situation in Patterson NJ you mention.
I was discussing the Israeli tourist/movers who were observed cheering the catastrophe from three locations in NJ. Some early reports sounded like they were viewing the initial collision. The FBI thought they were possibly part of the plot and spent a lot of manpower tracking them down. They were reported as 'Middle Easterners' in the press.
(As a curious side note, bomb-sniffing dogs reacted to the vehicle in which they were apprehended while no explosives were found.)

Officially these guys were tourists and were deported after a while. As I mentioned in 156, the Forward recently published a claim that the FBI concluded the moving company was a front and they were spies.
There were two other tourist/movers apprehended later in an unrelated incident that I mentioned but the only press coverage AFAIK was the initial article in a small town paper.

The clear implication of your statements here is that Carl Cameron changed the story once the other "FBI-dud" story came out, and that is simply false.
But... I have the story saved on my hard disk at 8:22PM EST, that's approximately an hour after you claim to have accessed it. Despite your obvious need to dismiss Mr. Cameron's credentials as a journalist I suppose it's possible the story changed in that hour.
So it was wrong to accuse you of lying about that. My apologies.
I suppose you may be correct, that the story was changing during the course of the night. However, the key contention is that it did not address the residue found on the suspects until today, or more pointedly, until after the other story came out quoting the FBI as saying the tests were negative.
I never accused you of editing the story. I didn't even know you had posted the story earlier.
And in any case, you weren't the one who was essentially calling Carl Cameron a liar, now were you?

Let's see if hellinahandcart is big enough to admit the same about his comments that Carl Cameron edited the story in reply to the later story about the FBI.
A simple apology reads like this: "I apologize for calling you a liar and for accusing you personally of editing the article for your own nefarious motives." Since you were wrong, and you had no proof, it would be "big" of you to apologize.
And I don't see any implication on hell's part that Carl Cameron edited his story for any particular reason, let alone nefarious. I've seen it many times, that news websites continually edit and update their stories, especially right after they're posted.
Why did they ban radios?
Same reason that we're still saddled with rent control. Up until Rudy (God bless him)!, City Hall never a saw a free market it didn't want to regulate or a tax it could resist imposing. The fact that all but two councilors are Dems is all the explanation you should need.
