I didn't pay much attention to that story...but I was amazed that they showed the death that Saddam Hussein caused to his own people....I mean ..it helps Bush. I was just shocked.

Excuse me but this is really a non-issue does anyone really envision our bungling government going door to door confiscating guns? The A.T.F. would be mired down in Texas for a hundred years. I know that if they decide to come for my guns they will have to kill me and both my sons before they would even get into the house, not to mention that law enforcement agents are probably the worst marksmen who ever walked the planet!

I really don't understand their claim of a right to gay porn. The only rights one has are those that the society recognizes, and most people recognize that the typical person doesn't need gay porn, and that gay porn is more trouble than it is worth.
I prefer to let individuals themselves decide what they need or don't need, as long as acquiring it does not harm others.

For instance, folks have the right to life even if the government in place doesn't recognize that right. Socialist and communist govm'ts in particular. Lots of governments don't recognize the right of unborn folks to live simply because of where they happen to reside.

People don't need chairs either, they can sit on the floor. The very idea some folks can determine and dictate what other folks need is abhorrent. It's a marxist concept and has no place in a Free society. A Free society recognizes the right ot self defense and the individuals right ot make the determinations involved in effective self defense.

My point was just to question those who use the term "right" as if it had some sort of supernatual signifigance.Actually, our rights do have "supernatural significance" as shown by the following from the Declaration of Independence, to-wit:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights....

Good luck with your "revolt" after they have taken away all your guns! Maybe if you're lucky, the prisons for political disentors won't be to horribly bad!

"Did you see a revolt after the Brady Bill or any of the other Gun laws?Folks that have chosen to exercise their right to effective self defense take it seriously. They respect life. The laws you mention are not worth killing over. There comes a point however, when the rights of the people become so intolerably trampled that a forced ousting of the tyrants will become a reality. They know that, it's what motivates the grabbers.

Are you kidding? We have a shotgun and a rifle and I plan to keep them. We have never shot anyone and don't intend to. But there are alligators running wild here, this used to be a swamp. There are several prisons around here and the guys do occasionally escape. One is right across the creek right behind my house. Almost our neighbor. My burglar alarm and guns make me feel safe. Trust your neighbor, but keep your powder dry!
