I think another point about President Bush is that he recognizes that he is accountable to God for what he does with the presidency. I disagree with him strongly on some of his policies and some of his actions, and I will continue to criticize him when I believe that he is wrong. I'm not even a church-goer, but I am comforted to think that he recognizes that much has been given to him and that much will be expected.

Peggy has summed up exactly who President Bush is, and why I am so thankful to have him in the White House. He is the ultimate Anti-Clinton who fits the exact description of everything Noonan says Bush is not.
Clinton so disgraced the office, that all Presidents will be measured against him now. It will take some pretty nasty character to make him look good.
Clinton is vulgar, that is the perfect word for him. He has no redeeming qualities. He is a self centered mama's over indulged boy who feels he is the center of the universe.
Bush is doing his duty to his country, and that is so refreshing, and so comforting, and so G rated!

I think that her great article was, in many ways, about Billy. The contrasts were right on.

Depends on your point-of-view, I guess. I like reading members' comments. Folks who do the "Posted Here" links provide a valuable service.

Clinton represents a class of slick-tongued con men from the South that we see down here every day. But most, unlike Faulkner's Montgomery Ward Snopes incarnate, WJC, wind up selling this or that (I won't be specific lest I offend). And in the process some make a fairly good living off their adeptness. But these are bush league guys who probably have no illusions about their capabilities, give or take a couple of levels in the "Peter Principle".

Then there comes along the High Priest, the ultimate con man whose lifetime job is convincing the world of his innate wisdom and worth, while at the same time, in some dark corner of his twisted mind, he has to know that in the end, he is bereft of anything substantive beyond "slickness".

C.S. Lewis, in his discussion of the types of men speaks of "Men without chests". If ever there was a man without chest, it is Clinton, an empty suit who will spend the rest of his life demanding recognition for that which he perceives himself to be. "Hey, shine your light over here, it is ME!"

Bush takes seriously accountability to God ? Then why does Bush do the coddle the homosexuals Clinton dance step , which is in total abject contradiction to God and his word , the Bible .What is God's teaching on hypocrisy ?Why is he selling out and giving the liberals every item that they want on their agenda ? Accountable to God ? Ronald Reagan would never call any reporter a vulger name while on stage during a campaign event , as Bush got caught doing , and it became very publicin 2000.

And Ronald Reagan would let Isreal defend herself from terrorists and would not tell her to stop. And Ronald Reagan would not negotiate with terrorists. It's time to look for a candidate to run against Bush in primary 2004' . 5/12/02

As I said in my first post on this topic, I disagree strongly with President Bush on some issues. I disagree with his showing as much favor towards homosexuality as he does. I disagree with his bullying Israel over the Arafat issue. However, he is president of the United States of America and not a theocracy as defined by one segment of evangelical Christianity. God has blessed this nation as a representative republic with religious freedom and not as a theocracy. I believe that the president is doing what he believes he is called to do even though I think he is wrong on the very issues that you name.

We probably won't agree on any part of this, but I would like to think that you can see outside your own perspective enough to understand the point that I was trying to make.

Dear WFTR , thank you for your sincere response to my postings .

With respect to your idea that I propose that we have a theocracy in this country at the present time, or that I propose that we set up one ,I never said it nor do my comments reflect that .

There is a famous document during or after the civil war in which President Lincoln specifically expresses in specific clear words that the civil war was brought on by the citizens of the U.S .specifically because they had forgotten their creator ; that the counrty had strayed from God .Find that if you haven't read it .It is striking .Lincoln did not waver in his constitutionally given right to speak of his faith in God in the course of office, even the effects of straying from God .He proposed no law , or ordinance , creating the U.S government as the National church. If he had done so , that would be an attempt BY ORDINANCE , or LAW to create a theocracy and that is what is meant by the term 'Theocracy', which is forbidden by the constitution .Our laws are created by the beliefs of those who create them.

Something interesting for you to check out- you may be able to find these at a bookstore - Go to your local bookstore and ask for desk calenders .These are the ones you change daily , a date page a day that you turn . Some will have a theme ( Bible scripture , or a humorous saying, qoutes of faith by past Presidents , ) of sayings, one saying on each days date page.In 1992 , I had volunteered for an assembly candidates campaign . I saw such a calender on this assembly candidates office mantle .It's theme every day was qoutes of faith by U.S. Presidents ,and other U.S. officials over our countries history.I was surprised and glad to read them .

With respect to the Homosexual issue that Clinton rang in in 1992 - Only an eventually impeached President would have the gall to use in to the detriment of this country to get elected (the homosexual lobby wasn't even allowed to bring in on the floor of the Democrat convention in 1976, but when future impeached Clinton came around , the Homosexual lobby said . "He's our man ". And that was because future impeached Clinton allowed himself to be 'their ' man .) Talk show host Michael Medved says , as I do , that politicians sould be nuetral on the homosexual 'issue '; that they SHOULD NOT promote it . What about an article in during the last term of Clinton in a local So.California paper saying that more and more teenagers are EXPERIMENTING with homosexuality ? . EXPERIMENTING . They were not homosexual before experimenting . What about a local So. California College newspaper article I read by a homosexual about how he became un-homosexual because of his faith in God . Without saying it in the article , that article debuncted the liberal propaganda from another College 'official' report falsley stating that homosexuality is generic , inborn , and one cannot help being homosexual.

Furthermore , even Black people in general are offended that politicians and the leftist - liberal media in this country ( since 1992 Clinton by the way ) classify homosexuality as a minority protected class of people , when in fact it is a LIFESTYLE.

If you own a buisness , and someone openly lets those in the company around him know that he is a homosexual , if others quit thier jobs and go to another company because they feel uncomftorable working the person who openly let others know he is homosexual , what would you do as the owner of the company ? What if people are quiting so often because it hurts the production output at your buisness ? I'll leave it as an open unanswered question with the following : At my place of employment I saw the effects of the California law put in place in 1994 disallowing ' discrimination' 'against' homosexuals in the workplace.Soon t. to my shock , someone who I had known at work for seven years came out of the closet at work .I spoke on a friendly basis for seven years before this ,I really liked Jeff .It was after that relating with poor Jeff , yet at the same time I continued to love Jeff as my friend , and I never mentioned his homosexuality to him , nor ridiculed him .He and his friend joked around about going to the 'Gaypride ' parade. I truly felt for him , and loved him with the love of God .Then along came Bill .Soon , folks at work knew Bill to be homosexual .Bill and I became pals even in the face of this .Bill and I would pal around ,and only one time did he make a sublte comment of advance toward me . He worked in the office, and I worked in the field .I was always friendly toward Bill and always reached out to him as a friend . I felt sorry for him that people would create grafitti in the men's bathroom making fun of his homosexuality , and I scrubbed it off the wall when I saw it .Bill bought another male employee and myself Birthday presents , and that touched my heart greatly and I thanked him .I loved Bill as a human soul ; a person .One day as I had just clocked out from work and started to leave down the stairs , one of the supervisors was standing there and said in front of another employee in a put down way , " Dave likes Bill ." I felt bad , not for myself , but for Bill .

The problem is this : It is bad for society , and bad for the homosexual person for politicians and the liberal media force the homosexual agenda on others .This is because 1) God says so ( Read the book of Romans ) , and 2) the politicians (liberals , and President George W. now )and the liberal media have and will since Bill Clinton's 1992 campaign cause the homosexual to believe he can come out to all , at work and everywhere in society , and believes everyone can and will accept it as normal , but 3) Society cannot , and never will accept it as normal , and the homosexual will suffer if he 'comes' out no matter how many laws the liberals try to create . Why ? Because you can't legislate God's law and natural law

And with regard to the media saying Pres. George W. Bush prays and reads the bible every day, and his coddling the homosexual 'log Cabin Republican Club 'in Orange County Calif. during campaign , condoning the openly homosexual congressman speaking at the 2000' 'r'epublican convention at which three cowboys bowed their heads in prayer and protest with their hats on their hearts , and President Bush appointing an openly homosexualto the White House office on AIDS ( HE WAS CRITICIZED BY CONSERVATIVES FOR THIS )- My question is this ? Will the 'r'epublican constituency take on the courage and work on the grassroots level to get REAGAN REPUBLICAN in the White House in 2004' ?(every person has on every level the ability to do something - recruit, call, write , start a Non-connected political action committee through the F.E.C. and raise money to do your own ads on radio,in the mail - take the money away from the self interested 'Republican in name only' 'politics over principle' incumbent elites .Call 1-800 information to get the number .)

What 'r'epublicans must realize whether you are a Christisn or not ,is that that Conservativism wins.President Bush ran ( mostly) as a Conservative ,and on his nice guy pal-pal image , and he won .He's probably has broke more promises in a year and a half later than his dad and Bill Clinton combined, and he's governing as a liberal.Wake up , or lose the Senate and the House for sure ,and watch your country slide into decay. The Lord Bless you and keep you ." Whatever you do in word or deed , do all in the name of the Lord " -from the bible. " ....for God is love ." 1jhn 4:8 The Church Of Christ 5/14/02 Sincerely ,voa-davidk
