245i Amnesty to be Attached to Supplemental Spending Bill?

FROM: Roy Beck, executive director, NumbersUSA Action

DATE: 9:30 p.m. Wednesday 7may02

========================================t-2===========

Take action now against the latest Bush amnesty attempt.

============== THE ACTIONS ==============

1. The Members of the House Appropriations Committee from your state need to hear from you immediately.

Please go to:

http://www.NumbersUSA.com/fax

(If you are on the HOME page, click on FAX CONGRESS FREE.) You will find on the Fax Center page Fax No. 999. (If nobody from your state is on the committee, you will not see the fax.)

Please read Fax No. 999 and, if you agree with it, send it.

2. Send Fax 9991 to the White House. Pres. Bush needs to be told by aides that this new sneak attack of his is being noticed an generating among the top 10 of contacts by Thursday noon.

3. Send this Action Alert to everybody you know who opposes amnesties for illegal aliens and who opposes the federal government forcing still more massive U.S. population growth. Include a personal note of introduction that urges people to register to send faxes and to do it immediately.

================== WHAT HAPPENS TOMORROW (Thurs) ==================

The White House knows these amnesties are incredibly unpopular. Hence this latest attempt to attach the Section 245(i) amnesty to something that almost never gets voted down on the floor -- a supplemental spending bill.

About the only way to defeat something like this is in committee.

Our chief person on Capitol Hill was just this evening tipped off to the latest White House sneak attack to force an amnesty. A supplemental spending bill is ready to be "marked up" in the House Appropriations Committee as early as Thursday morning. The White House has managed to get the amnesty added to that.

We believe one of our allies on the committee will move to strip the amnesty and demand a roll call vote. You want to make sure that any member from your state knows how you want him/her to vote and that citizens are watching.

We have some hope that other business will delay the supplemental markup until Thursday afternoon or even later. We'll keep you informed. If you find the fax on the Fax Center, that means the issue is still live.

================== WHAT WE NEED TO HAPPEN ==================

We will plan that enough of you will see this Action Alert tonight so that the fax machines will be full of anti-245i faxes when the staff arrives Thursday morning -- and that the machine will just keep printing fax after fax all day.

================= WHAT IS AT STAKE =================

Re-instating Section 245(i) for four months -- as the White House has attempted repeatedly for 17 months -- would allow approximately a half-million illegal aliens to apply for a green card and (because of current INS policies) remain in the United States for the years until they are eligible to receive the green card.

Not only would this add 500,000 people to the permanent U.S. population, but history shows that it would entice millions more illegal aliens to move to the U.S. The ramifications are clear for urban sprawl, congestion, overcrowded schools, loss of environmental resources and wage depression for America's poorest workers.

===========================MORE BACKGROUND===========================

Although the President has had some success in getting this amnesty through the House in the past, it has always been in a special form or by a narrow margin that has made it difficult to pass in the Senate.

The White House pulled such a sneaky in March by attaching the amnesty to the very good visa-tracking bill. It passed by one vote after a furious effort on the part of all of you in opposing it. That close call emboldened some new allies in the Senate to threaten a filibuster if the same stunt were tried in the Senate. That worked; the visa tracking bill passed without an amnesty. Just today the visa-tracking bill went to the President for his signature -- without any amnesty!

Do you think Numbers USA would compose faxes that would list the reasons we're not going to vote for Bush and Republican members of congress, with amnesty for illegal aliens at the top of the list, this election cycle?

Wouldn't it be a great idea to fax those out after we cast our votes for other candidates? I hope these traitors lose their elections by exactly that amount of votes.

Why is this even being considered? Is Bush that eagar to crap on the ones who supported him. This get him nothing as far as new voters go. How many illegals can vote - opps don't answer that question. Immigration and border security are a litmus test for me. This goes through and I'm through with the Republicans.

U.S. firms aid initiative to create jobs in Mexico
Six months ago, while a drought was withering the crops on Francisco Pedroza's land, he worked as a hired hand on his brother's chicken farm. Today he has his own chicken farm near the northern city of Torreón, complete with 24,000 waddling chicks. And he can earn up to $10,000 in two months by selling the birds to the local subsidiary of Tyson Foods Inc., which helped him set up his business.

It's a dirty job stuffing cocaine in a chicken butt, but somebody has to do it

A lot of cocaine that came into Mena was taken up to Springdale in northwest Arkansas, she said, where it was stuffed into chickens for reshipment to the rest of the country.

One former state trooper, who worked for eight years as an undercover narcotics agent, the last four in the Springdale region of Arkansas, told The Sunday Telegraph she had collected detailed intelligence that Tyson was smuggling cocaine stuffed inside chickens.

Gringo Meddlers Expelled From Mexico!
"The Americans’ offense was to participate in May Day marches in Mexico City and Guadalajara. The ones in Mexico City were college students, visiting with their professor from Washington State. They had joined a group protesting the expropriation of land near Mexico City for a new airport and were waving machetes with the other protestors. They might have gotten away with it, except that some of them were heard on the TV news shouting protest slogans in broken Spanish, which in turn caused Mexican journalists to express outrage."

It sounds like a plan to me. I don't have to worry about Pete Sessions, he is anti-immigration. Phil Gramm is retiring so that only leaves me Kay Bailey Hutchinson to worry about and she already knows my thoughts.

See the reply immediately above. This is almost definitely the missing puzzle piece: the stability of the Fox government, which is linked to all of Latin America, which is turning leftward before our eyes.

Unfortunately, Melanie Jeanbeaucejour was released from prison after serving only two years for this brutal murder of a child. Fortunately Ashcroft reversed the decision by Espenoza, Villageliu and Rosenburg of the Board of Immigration Appeals and ordered her deported back to Haiti. At the moment, however, this killer apparently is still lose in this country. I found a short article about it in The Washington Times, May 9, 2002, p. A9.
