Since the thought that people could be born gay -- it's much easier to demonize people when they "choose" to be something, I guess -- wipes out all their arguments, they would rather believe the lie than believe all the gay people in the world. Besides, why should they believe people they think of as subhuman anyway? I mean, they've got their moral superiority to show off to the world. :)

It's also much easier to rationalize deviant behavior by removing individual choice and responsibility from the equation. There are myriad sexual deviancies and sub-deviancies that people choose to either indulge or not indulge based on a variety of factors. The fact that some people choose to engage in these behaviors without restraint has more to do with a lack of self-control than genetics.

I have a close friend who is both a homosexual and an alcoholic. There is more scientific evidence to support the notion that his family history predisposed him to alcoholism than there is to support the idea he was "born gay". Why is society so adamant that he stop drinking? Isn't that denying his true self?
