Most of us here feel that the protections of individual liberty intended to flow from the Constitution have been erroded. The government has appropriated the power to control the value of our money and suceeded in forcing us to pay for a continuing deprivation of our fundamental rights. To continue to centralize power in the federal government, those in power have abrogated the duty to control our borders and provide for the common defense.

The answer to the question of what do we do about it is difficult. However the issue of how we got here is relevant in framing the what we do about it, once we develop some stratigic vision of a political mechanism for the fix.

Like Korth, I started with a pro-Lincoln Republican party view--at this point, I agree completely with those who date the downfall of the republic from Lincoln's presidency.
