It is right there - could not be more simple. Unless the 3rd party is a serious threat to the Dem, if you would have given your vote to the conservative, but did not, and instead took that vote and gave it to a third party, you helped the Democrat by giving him one less vote he must match against his real threat.

Now, instead of your conservative vote cancelling Joe Blow's Dem vote, making the balance equal (con=+1, Dem=+1), Joe Blow's vote gives the dem advantage (con=0 Dem=+1), whatever the final outcome.

Amen brother! I'm Catholic too, and these people, whether they realize it in this generation or not, are and have always been God's chosen people.

Food for thought From Thomas Hobbes' Leviathan:

Part III. Of a Christian Commonwealth.

Chap. xxxviii. Of Eternal Life, Hell, Salvation, and Redemption.

[12] And first, for the tormentors, we have their nature and properties exactly and properly delivered by the names of the Enemy (or Satan), the Accuser (or Diabolus), the Destroyer (or Abaddon). Which significant names (Satan, Devil, Abaddon) set not forth to us any individual person, as proper names do, but only an office or quality, and are therefore appellatives, which ought not to have been left untranslated (as they are in the Latin and modern Bibles), because thereby they seem to be the proper names of demons, and men are the more easily seduced to believe the doctrine of devils, which at that time was the religion of the Gentiles, and contrary to that of Moses, and of Christ.

[13] And because by the Enemy, the Accuser, and Destroyer, is meant the enemy of them that shall be in the kingdom of God, therefore if the kingdom of God after the resurrection be upon the earth (as in the former Chapter I have shewn by Scripture it seems to be), the Enemy and his kingdom must be on earth also. For so also was it in the time before the Jews had deposed God. For God's kingdom was in Palestine*, and the nations round about were the kingdoms of the Enemy; and consequently, by Satan is meant any earthly enemy of the Church.

* "Palestine" meaning Israel.

RE: #45

Arafat looks like a little girl who has a crush on Bill. He's practically fluttering his eyelids in that photo. Bill on the other looks like a lech sizing up his next conquest. I guess we now know what Arafat did to make Clinton his buddy!

I remember, we are far better off with Bush, imperfect as he is, than to have Gore!

I wonder what those miserable Pali apologists on FR will say about this one.

For some time (short, for sure!) they'll keep silence. LarryLeid, Philip V., Documentary Lady and the other bitch, Ashley Something (my apologies, good doggy!)... all of them will stay away until they decide that the first impression of the atrocity has worned out.

Then they'll busy themselves with an "objective" analysis of the root causes of the Palestinian terrorism and, inevitably, will arrive into the conclusion that the inherently evil Jews just desrve it all.

He is being absolutely hypocritical in saying we must fight terrorists wherever we find them---EXCEPT IN ISRAEL.

I'm afraid, you're not right my friend. Look at what Bush does, not at what he says for public consumption. He, and Can-do-Lizzy, and Colon Bowel had staged a perfect and lengthy show for the diaper heads and libs, curving out enough time for Sharon to carry out his Defensive Shield.

Remember, W is the president of all Americans, even those which you and I don't like.

I hope you'll forgive my lecturing, but that's what I beleive (though not being American myself).

I am quite impressed...you must have been sitting in ALL meetings with the President.

Interesting concept--this means that only if one is privy to all the inner workings of the government can one dare to criticize the government. Because this is impossible except if one is in the President's inner circle, we all have to be silent. As a reminder, we are not subjects under the crown or under the heavy hand of a dictatorship.

If this concept was applied to the former administration, any number of people on this site should've been struck mute.

Meanwhile, the creep Justine Raimonda had written another lampoon on his antiwar.garbadgebin.com, and one of those you're talking about had posted it on the FreeRepublic. What a disgrace!

if you would have given your vote to the conservative

There is the problem. Why is it assumed that the lesser of two evils is somehow entitled to my vote, like some sort of default candidate selection, so that if I vote for someone else I am 'taking away' support for that so-called second choice? Is not the person I actually VOTE for entitled to that vote?

Was Al Gore entitled to Ralph Nader's votes? Perhaps you think they should have been counted toward his total, and Buchanan's toward Bush?

Post #16: Amen to that brother!!!

Israel needs to quit listening to what the rest of the world tells them what they should be doing and do what they have to do to, to end this nightmare. Arafat is a terrorist plan and simple and should be arrested.

I never said anyone was entitled to anything, that is why I stressed the "if". You are making a simple mathematical fact unneccesarily complicated.

If you would not have voted for the conservative even if there were only 2 choices, then you did not help the Dem.

In the last photo, it looks like W. is telling Sharon, "Ok, give 'em a chainsaw enema!"

That would be a welcome big switch from his szhizoid "show restraint when the terrorists kill your people" policy. But I seriously doubt it. In fact, We are losing the war on terrorism due to this horrible inconsistency and softness on terrorism.

Really? The ole "don't take what I do at face value" ploy eh? I think I saw that one on Get Smart (or was it Man from UNCLE?). Give me a break - Bush is losing the war on terrorism due to his softness on Arafat and Saudi Arabia. There should be "no quarter" for any terrorist or their sponsors - just as he said after 9/11. Bush's actions contradictd his own pledge.
