Thank you for your post. One of the problems in the Seminaries I have heard (since I am not in any seminary) is the predominately Gay Culture that exists and needs to be dealt with. Active priests of any stripe (homosexual or heterosexual should not be in the priesthood). That being said, I am certainly conflicted. I do not believe merely being homosexual is a sin, but like my church acting upon it is. In that light, I have no problem if the Church had ordained gay celibate priests. If they can control and never ever act on their urges and teach Catholic Doctorine as the Vatican sees it, I have no problem with gay priests. That being said, it isn't easy to find a gay priest that fits taht description, but there could be one or two out there.

Great post.

The homosexual movement has a history of trying to claw its way into places its agenda doesn’t belong, not for the betterment of mankind, but simply to legitimize and normalize perverse behavior. This is apparent in the all-too-common need of homosexuals to declare their sexuality rather than simply do the job they sign on to do.

One thing about the status/gender of the victims of these priests... do homosexuals have an uncontrollable (or incontrollable, not sure which word is correct) urge to have sex? Just in the case of the Catholic Church, there are certainly many more heterosexual priests than there are homosexual priests, yet almost all of the victims are male. It seems to me, that if homosexuals could control their sexual urges as well as the heterosexuals control their sexual urges, there would be many more female victims than there are male victims.

Not a knock on gays, just an observation and/or question.

The Rev Jesse Lee Peterson has more common sense and courage than all the Bishops and cardinals I have been listening to from the Catholic Church.

The very idea that theatholic Bishops accept people who have a homosexual "Orientation" is beyond belief, since they don't know how to handle the problems caused by these types when they graduate from "Orientation" to "Action".

Our Cardinals and Bishops have shown they can't be trusted to do the right thing with basic moral decisions that horrifically effect the entire lives of children and young people.

It is interesting that Reverend Peterson has to show the way to such a self aggrandising bunch of "Self Proclaimed Leaders" of the Catholic Church as our current Crop of Bishops and Cardinals.

Rev. Peterson's article should be a must read for all the Catholic Clergy.

Great Post.

Excellent post, the problem isn't necessarily the Church, it is homosexuals and immoral behavior in general.

those who cannot control themselves should not be watching over our children.

Exactly! How can we trust anyone who makes wrong behavioral choices as supervisors for our kids? Those who practice perversion lack moral capacity, are disordered, and can never be trusted to make ethical judgments for anyone else until they find reparation.

When I was a child in the 50's, the church was paranoid about heterosexual sex. Females were looked upon as a source of temptation for priests (and all males for that matter), and the church bent over backwards to avoid any male-female scandal amongst its clergy. And guess what? That attitude may have spawned a certain tolerance of homosexual activities among priests that eventually carried down to activities with and the molestation of young boys in the age range when they were just reaching puberty and were naturally curious about their bodies and the changes they were undergoing. I feel that a healthy dialog about sexuality within the church at that time (which of course would have been very unlikely given the times and its paranoia) would have avoided many of the problems we see today.

Okay, let's say they get rid of all "gay" priests, and replace them with heterosexual ones, but keep the celibacy rule. Won't that just create a community of sexually deprived heterosexuals, who go after another easy target: little girls.

There is ample evidence that plenty of hanky-panky was going on between the priests and the nuns in Mexico (abortion and infanticide were used to hide the results of illicit sex among so-called celibates). When bones of dead infants were discovered buried behind the walls of convents, the government instituted an "open door" policy, mandating that church activities no longer be kept hidden from the public.

When you have a combination of secrecy, sexual repression, unaccountability, and a holier-than-thou attitude, things are bound to get out of hand.

The public schools are a prime example.

The media is not reporting the homosexual aspect of much of the abuse. And since progressive Catholics are exploiting the abuses to make internal reforms, a problem caused by homosexuals could actually lead to a wider acceptance of homosexual priests.

In the last two decades people have learned that gays are spreading AIDS, and yet at the same time people have sympathized with the gay crusade to normalize their lifestyle. This is really the same kind of thing.

Good read--and happy he is talking about it...but Ihave lost hope on this issue.

Homosexuals are too powerful. They have money and the media behind them.

For this reason, they cannot lose.

Three years ago, I logged on the Media Research Center website for an article discussing the hiring of new journalists.

In it, they discussed how major media (New York Times, Newsweek, Time, CBS) had sponsored recruiting tables at major journalism schools and colleges around the nation. What shocked me was that they had open tents for "Gays Only" and actually had quotas.

How many people really read The Washington Dispatch? Not many, I am sorry to say.

I don't mean to sound defeatist, but there is NO way the media will allow this scandal to tarnish homosexuals. None, zero, zilch.

The rally cry is already out, and the talking points have been issued by GLADD and the rest:

1. Homosexuals are being "Scapegoated"

2. Homosexuals don't target young boys

3. There are more heterosexual pedophiles than homosexual ones (warped data because of low numbers of homosexuals in the general population--but you have to explain that one, and by then, your average soccer mom or Joe sixpack has lost you)

4. Homosexuals and their organizations are "100% behind the victims" (there is a pun there--but it is too tragic to laugh)

5. When all else fails, say the name "Matthew Shepard" as loud and as fast as you can

The greatest thing Evil can do is pretend it doesn't exist - therefore it must infest that which is good and destroy from the inside. The scandal is those who allowed it to fester and those who do not report it!

Homosexuality is an aberration of sexual normalcy and causes an out-of-control sexual appetite—those who cannot control themselves should not be watching over our children. Take the Boy Scouts for example. How can a Scoutmaster be entrusted as the sole, unchecked supervisor to care for your kids out in the woods, far away from authority, if he is not sexually restrained?

The same goes for the public schools, such as Fairfax High School here in Los Angeles, which many years back adopted a program called “Project 10”, which encouraged kids to live as homosexuals openly and freely. The indoctrination of young, innocent minds by homosexual teachers goes against a child’s conscience and innocence and is contrary to the teachings of most parents.

Anyone remember watching C-SPAN in April of 1993 when they carried the Gay March on Washington? Here is the list of 10 Platform demands they were seeking at the time:

And why didn't they mention gay priests? Because they were already working their magic in the seminaries. They had set for themselves a goal in the early 70's to takeover the mainline denomination seminaries, not just Catholic. They had enough people in place that whenever the Pope gave any directive it would immediately be diregarded.

I am sorry to say that yet again the media is failing us by refusing to tell us that the primary problem within the church is an epidemic of homosexual priests. We know that most victims of these crimes are young boys, and the perpetrators are grown men—why is it so hard to say that this epidemic is a direct result of homosexuals being given authority that they should not have?

Well luckily most people are smart enough to figure this out for themselves. The only ones who don't get it are the folks in the media and those elderly Jewish voters down in Florida that voted for Buchanan.

Language is another institution the homosexuals are killing with their perversion. Far from being "gay", homosexuals are in fact tortured souls who in their heart of hearts know they are sickos. So, "gay" should never be used, especially by conservatives, to describe a homosexual. To do so, plays into their game.
